Friendly Staff, Good standard
The refurbishment of both the Foyer/Bar/Restaurant areas and the room itself was to a very good standard.
We were a bit worried when we saw the wooden floor in the room, that sound would travel from other rooms/floors but it didn't and we had a very enjoyable stay. Breakfast was the usual buffet, which is never ideal, but as buffets go, it was good. Most of all the staff here are so friendly and helpful and there is always a good standard of cleanliness throughout. This, along with onsite parking makes this our first choice for staying in Manchester. (This was our fourth stay in the last couple of years)
Nice modern hotel with clean room
Nice hotel in a nice location.
Easy to find and get parked. Room very clean and comfortable. Only complaint would be that the prices got hiked up for the stone roses concert but everyone was doing it.
Hotel was spotless food fantastic and so where staff could not fault
Good location close to Deansgate with a decent gym an pool.
Clean and tidy but breakfast was disappointing
Fantastic, clean well equipped, beautiful location x
Lovely friendly welcoming hotel, clean & tidy, staff pleasant and willing to help.
Room gets cleaned, fresh towels daily. Everything you need for weekend away. Would definitely use this hotel again x
We were attending a black tie dinner 200 metres up the road at another hotel, which may have a bit more bling, but at literally twice the price of the Castlefield there was no contest.
The Castlefield has newly refurbished rooms, free access to its own health complex with an excellent pool, and it's own on-site secure car park. The breakfast was good and plentiful, and the room overlooks the Castlefield open air theatre and canal marina. Some friends stayed at the other hotel the same night, and their room overlooked a building site. The hotel is in an excellent location across the road from the free entry Museum of Science and Industry, and within easy walking distance of the centre of Manchester and all that holds.
Good stay, warm welcome and comfy bed
The swimming pool was great, room generous in size compared to many city centre hotels.
Love the steam and sauna
Arrived at the hotel to check in - friendly reception and then went to the room.
Tired . The view out of the window was onto a hotel flat roof with pants and socks on it. The floor had an iron burn, the walls were dirty, the bathroom floor was badly chipped, the bath was not sealed, the shelf was peeling and their were sweet wrappers in the room. We were only staying 1 night and didn't mind too much - so we went for a drink in the lounge area and sat on the sofa with cuts and holes in it and blocked out the foul language that was being made by drunken customers...and then went out in the knowledge we were having a great night out...which we did. On return we went to bed - amazingly we found something even more tired than the hotel.....namely how tired we were after sleeping in such a terrible bed. Still...it was time for breakfast to start the day off in style. Getting a poached egg for breakfast is a treat - and being a bald man with a blonde girlfriend I quickly realized the big black hair in the egg was not mine, The stay in the hotel was finally finished...and all for 130 pounds. The staff were friendly, the hotel not so friendly. Anyone wanting pictures of what we experienced is welcome to them!
