Do not recommend

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days at the beginning of August.

When I checked, I was told that I had to pay a €100 deposit as well as the cost of the stay upfront. I queried the deposit as I was not made aware of this when I booked and was told I had to provide my card to be swiped. I asked to make the payment in cash but was told I could not do this. I was also told that my card details would be taken but not charged. Additionally, when we arrived at the hotel, we became aware that maintenance work was being carried out on our floor. Again something I was not made aware of. The noise was disruptive and the cables trailing across the corridors were dangerous. The air conditioning in our room was not working and despite calls to housekeeping and reception, was not fixed during our stay. When I checked out, I paid cash for the stay and was told that the funds on my card would be available to me after 1 working day. I have two problems with this, when I checked in I was told that a payment was not being taken and 7 days later, I still do not have the funds in my account. We were visiting for my friends 30th birthday and our stay fell well below the standard that I would expect. I have phoned the hotel and spoken to one of the managers however, he was abrupt and not interested in my issues as these are their standard procedures. I have been told that it could take up to 2 weeks for the money to go back into my account.

The concierge staff were some of the genuinly most helpful people we met.

We had left booking a table for x10 for dinner to the last moment and they mananged to pull it out the bag...and more.

I booked 1 twin and one double room, the twin was for my parents as my dad has a bad back and struggles to sleep when sharing.

On check-in I was told that this was a request not a booking of specific rooms and they had no other rooms available. As this was a treat for my dads 70th birthday I was very disappointed and asked them to see if anything they could do. They spent half an hour as we waited playing with his computer and calling his supervisor to be told there was nothing could do. They obviously did have more superior rooms but would do nothing for us, I found the staff rude and they were looking down at us. Also the rooms werent ready so had to wait in reception for them to be ready despite it being after 4pm.
