I booked this hotel as part of a birthday present for boyfriend.
The hotel overall is great. The location was ideal for us, just off Princes street, walking distance from Waverly Station and pretty much across the road from the St James Shopping Centre. The room was a good size with a comfy bed and was very clean and well kept. The reception area is clean and cozy they even light the fires at night. The one down point about the room is it can get quite warm during the night. We only had breakfast in the bistro attached to the hotel. I'm a fussy eater and I found it okay. There was plenty of choices and the hot food was very tasty. Will definitely stay here again in the future.
Dinner was excellent and the waitresses friendly and efficient.
Our room was in the old part of the hotel - on the 5th floor and no working lift all the way, however, we did have a lovely view. Sadly, that did not compensate for no water at all in the bathroom on the first morning. We stayed during the festival/tattoo so all prices are doubled. This hotel is central, and close to the station, but we came away feeling a tad ripped off at the cost. Sometimes you don't mind paying the extra during busy times, but this time we didn't think it was worth it.
Parliament House Hotel
Everything was just perfect from start to finish (even the weather unbelievably!).
All staff where very helpful and nothing was too much trouble and would recommend anyone to stay there as we would again. Many thanks.
Good Hotel for Money
Look likes a 5 star hotel and the price is acceptable.
The service is excellent.
Great hotel, great location
My third stay at Parliament House Hotel - I've stayed alone, with my husband and now with a friend, and it's been wonderful every time.
Spacious rooms, spotlessly clean, really comfortable beds, great breakfasts and close to the station and an easy walk into the city. The staff have always been helpful, really useful advice to help us get out to the Corn Exchange by public transport.
Friendly efficient check in.
Lovely reception area. We were in room 1 which is up the main staircase. No lift but stairs are shallow. Lovely room with very comfy bed. There's also a fridge with minibar. Spotless bathroom with powerful over bath shower and lovely toiletries. You can have drinks in reception by asking the staff. Breakfast was tasty and well cooked. The only downside - the hotel is on a cobbled steep road with limited parking. We have a blue badge and were allowed to park on the single yellow line outside. Would stay again.
wonderful location for visiting edinburgh
Really well located minutes from the station.
Really welcoming staff and great accommodation. We will definitely be staying again and soon. The room was nice and quiet and very comfortable.
Lovely, warm and cosy hotel.
Room was especially cosy and bed large and comfortable. Room a bi ton small side but adequate. Staff friendly and efficient at reception and when we went for breakfast. Would definitely stay here again and don't think anyone would be disappointed.
Parliament House Hotel
Lovely hotel in a fantastic location .
Throughly enjoyed our stay here .
We stayed two nights and had one meal in the restaurant.
The fist night was fine and the meal was good with good service. They cater for gluten free. The building is nice in a quiet area but still central for train and shops.
But the second night was interrupted at midnight by a fire alarm meaning we evacuated into the cold and rain. Fair enough, but, we heard this was due to a fault in the system caused by a leaky roof which if properly maintained could have been avoided.
The following morning, the heating was off and the shower had no hot water. We were offered to be taken to another building to have a shower.
On departure, I asked for a discount expecting to only pay for one night. We were discounted £25 which I did not think compensated for the problems on the second night.
The staff were friendly. The fire bridge were prompt.
