Ok for a last minute deal

The room was lovely (four poster bed) and the house is gorgeous but all a little tired.

The swimming pool area especially.

check in was good, hotel staff were friendly and helpful, our room was good, the bed was a little interesting, and not very comfortable as it was two mattresses pushed together, and they were very short as our feet hung over the end of the bed, we had not expected this as we are not tall people.

the standard of food for breakfast was very poor, and the service was very slow also. my wife ordered boiled eggs and they were not cooked, and were returned to the kitchen to be redone, when they came out the second time they were slightly over cooked. The porridge was cold, lumpy very milky and also did not have much flavour. the spa facilities and gym were excellent.

Lovely relaxing stay

We stayed one night to celebrate my 30th birthday - I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Customer service was impeccable, the room lovely, atmosphere so peaceful and relaxing and the spa facilities were great. I came away feeling like I'd been on holiday for a week!

Value for money in a classy hotel

Excellent service and rooms, and really great surroundings.

The lounges looked very comfortable in their Christmas decor and we were made most welcome. Not a great selection at breakfast, but I'd still go back.
