The hotel was on a busy road but we didn't hear any traffic noise. The room was pleasant and clean although at £120 per night a little pricey and we would have liked breakfast included.
We had breakfast at an added cost but it was very nice and good value for money.
The room was beautifully decorated but unfortunately the view from the window was onto an alley.
Good location with good rooms
Centrally located, clean, pleasant helpful staff with all you need for London stay.
I am so pleased I had checked the Mercure out before I stayed as I was able to evaluate what they offered and they did that and more when I went to stay.
I told them many of the hotels in Russel Square area have awful beds and was assured if any problem please do say. For me a bit too soft but spotless everywhere and I like to be able to ventilate a room without relying on a/c so that was. Great no contact bathroom mirror light a favourite too. Everyone eating seemed to be happy, I will try next time and there WILL be a next . Thank you to our multi national staff..
Really helpful and friendly staff, couldn't do enough for us.
Hotel nice and quiet at nighttime.
Good for central London
The room was comfortable, clean and warm.
Staff were courteous and helpful. However the bathroom was very cold and the heated towel rail could not be turned on. Later we learnt that we should have asked at reception for it to be turned on as they are kept turned off so that residents do not burn themselves. I am also pretty sure that when I booked on line breakfast was included in the cost. But we were told on arrival that this was not the case. So we had to pay £10 a head for breakfast. Oddly a couple we knew were staying at a hotel nearby and they had exactly the same experience.
tremendous central London accommodation
Quite simply the best value central London accommodation that I have experienced during the last 15 years.
Warm welcome; easy check-in; bright clean comfortable room with safe; free wi-fi and air conditioning. full- English breakfast at no additional cost and speedy check-out. I could not want for more.
Excellent choice but not a good nights sleep
Have walked passed this Mercure many times and knew the location to be excellent.
A step from Russell Square and on major bus routes too. Beautifully clean, modern décor and lovely staff. We were 'upgraded' too, a room with three single beds which was very large but it was at the front of the hotel overlooking Southampton Row. I knew it was a busy road but very noisy. We had a great meal in the restuarant, lovely staff and wonderful food but lacks much atmosphere. Not a place to wine and dine for the romantic amongst you but excellent on business. Great location just we would ask for a room at the back next time!
It's nice hotel and very kind staff I recommend for this hotel.
ok if your a Borrower. .
Nice but the doubles are more like singles so way overpriced.
