New year in london
Me and my husband stayed at the marlybone hotel for new year we had a really lovely stay we had no complaints at all about this hotel and we stay in London a few times a year I would recommend this hotel to anyone it is two minute walk to Oxford st and all its shops it central to all major attractions and one of the best thing about this hotel are the staff they are so attentive to all the guests nothing was to much trouble I like this hotel that much I have already recommended it to my sister who will going to London with family and friends to celebrate her birthday.
Good front desk service, umbrella offered at door when I was leaving (it was drizzling), good room and furnishings, also used the pool in the basement which is added bonus in central London hotel.
Very good service
Reception welcome was very friendly and efficient.
Room wasn't that big but was nicely furnished and was well equipped. We didn't have dinner or breakfast in the hotel so cant comment on the food, however we enjoy a pre-dinner drink which was very pleasant in the bar which joins on to the hotel.
We chose this hotel for its location which is excellent but it offers so much more .
Right from check in to check out the service was excellent. We stayed in a superior room and everything we could possibly need had been anticipated from really comfy bed down to an umbrella in case of rain. There are lovely seated reception areas to relax in and of course the pool and spa. Breakfast was worth paying extra for and the waiting staff very attentive. This hotel gets my top marks, four star price with five star service!
A dedicated concierge was rarely available on the concierge desk.
The desk was usuall occupied by the front desk employees, who have the full knowledge but are constantly focussed on check-ins and check-outs and do not have the full time to service concierge services.
Apart from the fact that the room was too small and by no way it excused a four star rating and the bed was so old you sunk in the middle, our wedding ring disappeared from the table.
It is the first time in 20 years from travelling around the world that this happened to us. All our valuables were safely stored away in the safe apart from my simple gold plated wedding ring (Which only come off at bed time) that didn't have a great financial value but a sentimental one. Although we pinpointed the exact time this occurred the management could do nothing about it of course, other than search themselves and ask the cleaners to check again. Note that yes I am writing this review 3 days after our stay there and after having looked through all our clothes and luggage and without trying to get any freebies or discounts at any time. Nothing positive to say I am afraid. Shocked that this happened in the UK of all places.
Most Comfortable Bed Ive Ever Slept In!
We loved our stay at this hotel, the gym was very well equipped.
Unfortunately the swimming pool was out of order so never got chance to try. This is a very central location only steps away from Oxford Street. Parking is available at a very nearby NCP. The room was gorgeous and the bed was so comfortable I never normally sleep in hotels, but did this time. Customer service on arrival and at reception was first class. Only 1 tiny criticism with customer service in the bar could do with a tiny polish as we were waiting for drinks for a while and at breakfast waiting for tea & coffee. We will definitely stay here again and may be our new best place to stay!
Short Stay Theatre Break
Restaurant was poor , I booked a table for 2 at the window in person earlier in the day and a note of the same was made , yet when I got to the restaurant at the appointed time the staff had given away the table with no explanation .
The steak was the smallest I have had for £28 and the poorest value . Overpriced , passable but not memorable . Avoid the restaurant , enjoy the hotel .
Very pleasant hotel, beautifully designed, nice interiors.
However, the bedrooms are tiny. We booked a superior double room and still were caught for space, ie, two of couldn't fit in the bathroom at the same time, unable to open out my suitcase in the room without having to step over it etc. Otherwise, very pleasant, helpful staff. Excellent breakfast (if expensive) in bedroom. Very good location.
Trendy tranquility in the heart of town
A great choice - walking distance to Oxford Street and lots more but very quiet and comfy beds.
Great cocktail bar.
