Very comfortable stay- would recommend!
We were very pleasantly surprised by the room and the hotel itself.
10/15 mins away from Kingscross St. a mere 10 mins away from Leicester square by taxi for fab food. Hotel by neat, clean, reception staff were most welcoming and indeed helpful. Esp with our key card, iron & ironing board. Room was lovely- clean, very comfortable bed (my husband is picky about small rooms and soft beds) and plenty of room for two to rest and get ready for a night out. Bathroom was well equipped - shower was powerful and hot. Fridge came in handy to chill drinks as it was a very warm weekend and the tea and coffee was well stocked. Powerful hair dryer provided too. Great view of the park/ gardens. Negative- 4 flights of stairs to get to our room so beware if you have weak legs- but we soon got used to it and because the hotel was so clean I didn't mind shedding my heels and walking up/ down bare footed. So a great nights stay - we were pleasantly surprised how well we enjoyed staying here- and would return. Breakfast was very good and ample. Lovely big hall to eat in- felt like we were at Hogwarts. All in all brilliant and have already recommended our stay here to others.
A good little hotel.
The staff were helpful and the location is good.
Basically though this is student accommodation so a bit cheerless and basic, and the floors were very thin, and creaked, so I could hear every time the person in the room above me moved, coughed, turned on the tv, sang in the shower, etc. That was the biggest negative.
One night stay
Excellent value in quiet and leafy location yet convenient for kings x etc
A Mixed opinion
The room itself was a very lovely room, it was well laid out, and had all that you could have needed for a nights stay, however being two walls of glass and a walkway right outside the door wasn't ideal at all, there was a light that was on all night and the blinds didn't stop the light form coming in through the sides.
Curtains would be a much better idea.
The room was nice and warm when we entered but was soon stifling over night, perhaps a cooler temperature would be suitable as ambient. Especially as the duvet is nice and warm. The bed was comfortable and like I said a nice comfy and warm duvet and pillows. The breakfast in the morning, even though you have to walk across to a separate building, is worth the walk, if not for the range of foods but the beautiful room that it is held in. the breakfast was a standard continental/cooked breakfast, which there is nothing wrong with just was very 'normal'. All in all the hotel had its ups and downs, would I stay here again?.. Most likely not by choice but that's not to say I would be totally disappointed if I were to have to stay here again.
charming find near Russell Square
Delightful hotel run as the accommodation arm of Goodenough College and to bring in revenue.
Has all you would expect, clean, friendly and helpful service, comfortable bed. It's several town houses linked together, no lift but receptionist insisted on carrying my heavy bag up three flights of stairs. Good value for money given London hotel prices which are never cheap.
This hotel was great
I was upgraded to a suite which was beautifully appointed, indeed positively luxurious.
Staff were helpful and friendly. The accommodation is well situated but maps on the website are not good. My only (minor) criticism is that the space for guests opting for the continental breakfast is very limited--breakfast itself was fine..
Peace and quiet in Bloomsbury
Wonderful setting on a quiet garden square in Bloomsbury, five minutes walk from Kings Cross.
More like a room in a private house than a hotel. Breakfast was self-service in the Great Hall of adjacent Goodenough College.
