Very helpful staff - told me about the extra free night's stay I can claim!
We wanted to book somewhere special for a night away, and found the St.
James Hotel in Nottingham on Laterooms. We opted for the £125.00 Four Poster Bed room and we were'nt disappointed. Upon arrival the staff couldn't have been friendlier or done more to help us. The room was spotlessly clean and in perfect condition, there was nothing more we could have asked for.
Quirky and unusual
Really lovely hotel, has a fun quirky look and the room was lovely.
Nice touches like the coffee machine and sleep spray for the pillows. Not the cheapest, however, the additional money is worth it for the quality of stay. It's more about the individuality than anything else - hotels should be fun!
Trendy hotel in the centre of Nottingham
Quite a luxurious room for the money.
Handy location for centre of Nottingham. The shower hose leaked a bit but this was not a problem. Really nice hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely decor. A great stay.
Good value for money
Very clean and well decorated hotel in a great location, for a good price
Great overnight stay
Stayed here for 1 night with husband on a business trip.
Loved the quirky design, warm welcome and from our room we could just see the castle. Some elements were looking a little tired but not an issue for us. Very comfortable and quiet for a hotel in a central location
A hidden Gem
James's Hotel is easily one of the best hotels I've stayed in, particularly for the price. The reception is quirky and rooms are very nice indeed:- All the items (irons, hairdryers) that other places make you ask for by special request. It's a hotel with character and it's placing in relation to the town centre and historical sites is great. I have stayed here on more than one occasion and would do so again.
Mostly a good experience
I upgraded rooms for £10 a night and the room was lovely.
Cooked breakfast on the first day was very poor, bacon and sausages overcooked, second day was a lot better. Pillow in room was very uncomfortable and whilst the booklet said a choice of pillows this was not the case
Our experience overall was very good.
However, in the restaurant for breakfast on the second night of our stay the customer service was not what it should have been. Having been overlooked for our hot drinks order I asked a member of the waiting staff if we could have some coffee only to be told that she was busy and could I ask somebody else. An inappropriate response that was also quite rude. I then had to leave my breakfast and find a member of staff to request a hot drink.
Another member of the waiting staff also spent quite a bit of time (two separate periods of approx. 5 mins) chatting to a couple of guests during breakfast...the problem was that she was stood only approximately a couple of feet from our table and so in effect we were stood over for a large part of our breakfast which was both inappropriate and off putting.
