Customer service from Kate on reception was outstanding, polite, professional and welcoming.
The hotel grounds were breathtaking. I loved everything about my perfect stay and the beds were so comfy!
Big let down
Room very dated, long blonde hair hanging from bedside lamp.
Bed valance stained, lovely setting but a poor chain quality service . I'm sure it had been a lovely establishment at one time, in need of TLC
The hotel was very good in all aspects, it was centrally located for exploring Strafford and Warwick.
The staff where very helpful and the hotel gave us the type break we wanted.
The room was lovely, the bed very comfy and the curtains completely black out the room and we both had the best nights sleep in a long time.
There was a wedding going on, but the bar was large enough for us to still feel comfortable having a drink down there. The leisure pool was nice - slightly small but still nice. The only negative was the leisure towels had brown marks on which we hoped was fake tan.
We got the room at a fantastic rate, but it did not include breakfast - however it did smell good and the dining room looked flawless with very clean glasses. The bar prices were reasonable too. The hotel location was perfect - close enough that we visited both lamington spa and straford.
Punching a bit above its weight
We booked this hotel as it was a huge discount on the usual price and the photos made it look very luxurious.
I'm glad that we didn't pay full price, but for the reduced price it wasn't too bad value for money. The hotel front has a beautiful exterior, but that is just the small building housing reception, the rest of the hotel is a large extension, and the room we stayed in was very dated. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, certainly no complaints about the service. The food was ok, but the breakfast was only just worth the money as the range was quite limited. In short I'd definitely recommend this hotel if marked down in price and if you're just looking for a friendly stop over. The gym and swimming pool (which we didn't try) look great, and are free as a guest. If you're looking for a romantic getaway or a luxury hotel I'd try elsewhere.
Good.....but not Great!
Ettington Chase has a nice charm to it.
The customer service is really done well and the location is perfect for a quite get away close to Stratford. The qualtiy of our room wasn't that great and it felt more like a dorm room. The room was very basic with no ice box or ice buckett and half of a shower door. The walls were plain and littered with cobwebs. The bed was uncomfortable and dusty. The "free" wifi was extremely spotty and you had to log in every 30 minutes. Besides that, the rest of the hotel was nice. The hotel bar and restaurant were good along with the gym and pool area. All in all, we had a great time in the area and would stay again....in a better room.
