Good base for South London

Clean, functional and an ideal location for south London business or pleasure.

Coulsdon court

Very nice hotel probably could do with a coat of new paint in some areas as the decor was looking a little tired

Let Down

Was a break from the routine idea to stay here but TV was tiny, Wifi awful (kept dropping out) and the shower was the worst I've ever used in a hotel (in terms of water flow).

Noisy floorboards in the hallway causing disturbance and a loud rumbling sound kept me awake all night. Receptionist on exit was too busy to ask how our stay was. Lift was out of order and no early warning which would have been nice with a disabled partner. That said, the original male receptionist was very polite and helpful and the room was spotless. Your mileage may vary so in a different room you may well have more luck.

Great location !

Close to M25 - took just 45 mins to the car rental return at Heathrow airport.

Nice property and helpful staff. Just hope they get the lift fixed !

1 Night Stay

The accomodation had serious flaws.

The lift was faulty and the stair lights were hanging out of the ceiling and flickering - epilepsy sufferers could easily have problems and the poor lighting could then couse problems in an emergency. The room i was in vibrated and had a constant drumming. When reception were called it was a problem in the kitchen extractor fan. No offer of an alternative room but it would go after 9:30. I left to avoid the noise and it had gone by the time I returned. For breakfast it all started again so a very poor nights sleep. The window would not stay ajar and the room lighting was unavailable - sorry - non existant at the table for working. The trouser press didn't work and the bed side lights had three switches that all had to be in the right place to make them work. The corridor had panels of paper hanging off. I had hoped that a feedback report I had read that since a bespoke takeover it had fallen short of previous experiences was just a glitch. This was more than a glitch and I was severely dissapointed as I had chosed not to use the cheaper hotel experience and go for something better - what a waste of money.

Lovely hotel and staff

The hotel and staff were first class.

However, I had a room that was over the kitchen extractors and was so noisy I could not relax and was woken at 05:50 when they started up again.

Overnight stay

We booked the hotel just a few days prior to the stay.

Everything with regard to the booking was organised well. The reception was professional and welcoming. The hotel itself would benefit from a little bit of a makeover, wallpaper and carpets etc, the room was both spacious clean and warm. We sampled food from the bar menu and were not disappointed. Overall it was a pleasant stay and good value for money.

Exceeded Expectations - very pleasant business stopover.

I booked a late room at short notice for a quick business stopover for the night whilst travelling to see clients.

I had a quick look at the reviews before booking and seemed a mixed reaction from previous guests but nothing too off putting so booked a great value room. It was only one night but I have to say that I had a very pleasant stay. Check in was very friendly and informative over facilities and food options. Room was large and well equipped with clean iron and board for refreshing shirts, trouser press working and full size kettle. I dined in the restaurant but ordered from the bar menu which was more than adequate in choices. Hotel seems to be frequented by locals and golfers and indeed were hosting a party night from a local business. Service was still very quick and staff coped very well with peaks in service required at times. I can understand why some describe as tired but its far from beyond redemption and cleanliness was superb throughout. I would much rather stay in hotels with some quirkiness. Job well done Coulsdon.
