Reviews - The Courtyard Rooms, Welbury

3Self Classified Guest Accommodation Ratings explained
The Duke of Wellington Pub Welbury, NORTHALLERTON, DL6 2SG
Welcome to the Duke of Wellington Courtyard Rooms, ideally situated in the heart of some of the most beautiful scenery that North Yorkshire has to offer.

Our barn conversion was completed in July 2012, offering five rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms and finished to a very high standard.

The Courtyard Rooms allows you to choose from twin, double and family room options.

To further enhance your stay, the Duke of Wellington Public House is a fully licensed premises, offering a wide selection of traditional home cooked meals, and although separate from the Courtyard Rooms is less than 20 metres away. (Please note; The Courtyard Rooms and The Duke of Wellington are on the same site but are run independently).

Ideally situated only a stones throw away from the Coast to Coast walking and cycling routes, giving you the opportunity for a great nights rest before the next leg of your journey. (Regional Route 52 to Whitby for you cyclists).

If the Coast to Coast is a little too strenuous for you, then why not visit some of the local market towns. Yarm, Northallerton, Stokesley, Great Ayton, Osmotherly and Thirsk are all within 10 minutes, providing a winning combination of unique shopping and lovely cosy tea rooms.

Not done enough shopping? Then Middlesbrough Town centre, Teesside retail park and Hartlepool Marina is only a short drive away.

If you fancy travelling further a field then Helmsley, York, Whitby and Scarborough are all within easy reach.

Excellent!
We stayed here over 1 Sat night. Rooms are very clean, spotless towels, lots of hot water, new and comfortable beds. Plenty of storage. Quiet location with plenty of parking. V good pub with wide range of beers. All things considered couldn't fault it. Price looks cheap but not reflected in quality! Will be staying next time we are at Catterick.

Lovely room but too small.
Delightful setting and lovely helpful people that own the place, but the room, whilst very clean and fresh, is too small, cramped and without bedside tables. There is only a plasterboard stud wall between your room and the next so it does not feel private enough. You can hear the next room chatting and watching the TV, and the people in the rooms above walking about. It was no disturbance to us as all the guests were well behaved people, but it is simply not private enough.
We left feeling like we had had a luxurious night camping. It's all very nice but only as a place to sleep.

visiting newly born grandson
booked literally 'at the last minute' when grandson was born, and was delighted with the accommodation. Attached to the Duke of Wellington Pub which provided an excellent evening meal. Very quiet and had a good nights sleep, very comfortable beds. They do not provide breakfast but there is a kettle and supply of coffee and tea. Very satisfied, excellent value.

Fantastic Accommodation
Travelled with my 16 yr old son for an event nearby after a 7.5 hour journey just wanted to relax.
Wow......fantastic accommodation, lovely hot shower, very comfortable bed and all finished to a very high standard. Recommend dinner and drinks at the Duke of Wellington (just a 10 second walk away). This is a little gem of a place and will definately be returning to stay here.
Highly recommended.

We stayed when walking the Coast to Coast path and the Courtyard Rooms are quite new, clean and well furnished. The proprietors did everything they could to make our stay a pleasant one. The adjoining pub sadly do not do food on a Sunday evening but they helped us to arrange to have a takeaway delivered to the pub and provided plates and cutlery as well as some very good beer!
