There is better for the same cost
Having worked on the Island on and off for 5 years I have tried most hotels in Douglas. This was by far the worst. It is not a hotel by a room above a Chinese restaurant at hotel prices.
Room was cold (heating went off around 10.00)
Bathroom was so small I could not sit on the toilet (too much detail I know)
Rooms are so close and the landings so tight it felt like a 1970s hostel.

ManagementResponse

I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us at the Caledonia Hotel. We do indeed have a Chinese Restaurant on the ground floor offering a wide range of excellent food for our hotel guests convenience as well as our local customers. The heating is on time switch control system through the whole hotel. However, if guests should find the room is no warm enough, and they are able to ask extra electric heater to put in their room, I am sorry we did do that for you, because we are no aware. The bathroom's size are from 3 square meters to 8 square metres. Due to the property being a late traditional Victorian Bed and Breakfast building, the rooms are all different shapes and sizes and we feel this gives it a charming feel. It also means, however, that if a customer is not completely satisfied with their room, we are able to offer them a different one that they may prefer. If we had known you were not content with your room we would have been happy to offer you a more suitable one. Once again, I am very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay and will use this advice in future to ensure that guests are satisfied with the accommodation we provide.

Not good
I found the owners very ignorant and unwelcoming the place smelt
And they only did breakfast from 8:30 to 9:30 I said I had to leave at eight
But they didn't offer to leave me out some cereal or anything
I would never stop there again I would rather sleep in the car first
Basic I can do but I can't do unclean. But at the end of the day what did I expect for £43
Got what I paid for !!!!

Not Three-star
This is a Chinese restaurant with hotel accommodation on the upper floors. It took quite some time to raise anyone at reception desk to check us in. We were given a room with sea view for the two nights which we appreciated as LateRooms had indicated that the room with sea view would only be available for the first night.
We felt the electrics in the hotel needed attention. Some lights flickered and some would go off altogether for a while. Nobody cleaned the room between nights, supplies for tea-making were not replenished and we had to make our own beds ! Full English breakfast was good.
