The room was very nice and clean and was greeted with a smile and was very pleasant.
One of my favourite hotels....
I have stayed at this hotel several times and it is fast becoming one of my favourite places to stay; I try to book it whenever I am in Maidstone (3-4 times per year).
As always, reception was fast, efficient and very welcoming. (On one previous occasion I arrived very early but was still allowed to check into my room). The hotel is a fairly short but pleasant walk along the river bank and over a bridge to the town centre. The room was, as always, spotlessly clean and comfortable, with spectacular views over the River Medway; I managed to enjoy a good night's sleep, despite having the window open (it was a hot night) and Maidstone appearing to have the most intensive activity by night-time emergency vehicles of any town or city I know (a legacy of it being Friday night, I suppose). Breakfast is always freshly cooked and there is a wide choice of food. I wouldn't mind seeing fried eggs on offer though, as I am not particularly keen on scrambled eggs, the only available option. I have given a lower rating for value for money on this occasion since this was the most expensive so far of all my Travelodge stays - though this may be due to the time of year and the online platform I booked through. But £86 for a room and breakfast, though not outrageous, is a far cry from the "£35 or less" that Travelodge emblazons over its adverts. When I arrived, the limited car park was already full and I had to park in the overflow car park at a nearby supermarket (the first time this has happened). I discovered that, though fairly close, the walk from the Asda carpark to the hotel with a heavy case is an arduous one. Other than that, however, I was happy with my stay and will certainly return there.
Having stayed in Travelodges before, this particular hotel was below standard.
Limited on-site parking, lift not working, small room, no air-conditioning yet on a busy road in town centre, stained carpet, no bedside tables, one plastic chair, no rack for luggage, toiletries were from a soap dispenser, no telephone to contact reception. At £54 this was too dear.
Ideal for quick stay over
Clean, basic but what I expected.
Beds very comfortable. Great location. Parking ok.
Travelodge Maidstone Central
Clean comfortable and good value easy to find with car parking too.
Another day another stay
Nice hotel fantastic staff , friendly , helpful, made my stay so much more enjoyable .
The only let down was the security guard he had a real attitude but that didn't spoil my stay .
One night break
Clean and comfortable friendly staff good value for money
not a good hotel, find somewhere else
Cold, dirty, unpleasant and all hotels I've stayed in recently (around 10 to 15 in the year) have had FREE WiFi, very disappointed.
A good cheap stay
A pleasant stay.
Staff were nice and room was clean. Easy to walk into town.
Travelodge Maidstone Centre
Decent chain hotel.
Room clean, bed comfortable, quiet. I convenient for town centre. I only tried the breakfast on my last day, food was Okay. My only possible quibble is the limit of 30 minutes on the free WiFi, these days the WiFi should not be time limited.
