Room too noisy to leave window ajar
While the room was comfortable in itself, it was bang next to noisy equipment (extractor fan from Harvester.
aircon?) and the roundabout, so we had to keep the window shut on a warm night. Someone has to have the room tough, and we did book late. Being charged for parking at an out-of-town location is a bit naughty.
The staff were welcoming and pleasant.
The room excellent.
The Harvester, adjoining the hotel, was not as good. I went for breakfast at 8am and was the only person there. No staff came out for about 5 minutes. The flagstoned floor had been washed but there were no signs to warn that it was still wet, which I discovered when my foot slipped. The tables were slightly sticky all over. The buffet was inviting and varied. When a staff member came out (pleasant and helpful) I chose the full English breakfast. When it arrived it looked fine but was swimming in oil making every mouthful taste virtually the same. I felt it was overpriced and it wasn't satisfying.
A hairdryer would have been useful!.
It's a basic hotel but likewise there are basic requirements. They could be fixed to the wall if they are afraid they'll be pinched. They manage to do this is in leisure centers etc. On this basis I suppose I should be grateful there was a kettle. So why not a hairdryer?
Convenient for the visit
Disappointing no Radio4 via the telly, and few TV stations.
30 mins free WiFi was useful, just to do a quick check on emails.
Friendly staff and nice room for a night
First impressions : not too good as I saw £ 5 parking And a shame our booking request didn't appear on the Travelodge hotel system , so our requests were not added Thanks so much to the friendly receptionist Geirdre for helping us and guiding us to go to walk to town centre: 1hour distance What I didn't like in the room: spy hole visible / check the sink and the bath as the bath plug hole doesn't close properly to have a nice bath.
/ soap and shampoo ( advice: take yours )
Nice option for both Gloucester and Cheltenham.
Not the best or cheapest travelodge I stayed in but no problems either
A breathless night
Almost everything was OK.
I mean Service and Check-in: OK, Comfort: OK, Cleanliness: OK, Decor: OK, Checkout OK. To be honest this is all one expects from a Travelodge. Negative points. Well there's the mandatory £5 parking fee for guests travelling by car. There's also the absence of 13amp plug sockets on the side of the room that the bed is located on. For some, this means the slight inconvenience of not being able to use mobile devices in bed while charging them. I have sleep apnoea and have to use a CPAP ventilator (surprisingly widely-used devices) to help me to keep breathing while I sleep. As I couldn't plug this in near the bed I slept very badly waking frequently with this potentially life-threatening condition. I've used it in hotels all around the UK, Europe and Middle East but this Travelodge was the first one I've stayed at where I couldn't do so. Even an extension cord would have made a difference.
Very welcoming and comfortable.
My stay was very good and excellent customer service when I arrived at the hotel and went to my room and found that none of the lights where working they quickly moved me to another
