A pleasant suprise in Cardiff Bay
I spent two perfectly comfortable nights at the Travelodge in Cardiff Bay in what is, after all, a simple, three star hotel. The room was okay, the bed was very comfortable, there were towels, the shower was fixed quickly when reported out of order; the breakfast was ordinary. Nothing, indeed, to complain about or rave about except, and here is the big thing, the nicest, most helpful and friendly staff I have come across in a long time, that turned the whole stay into a real pleasure.

Last minute stay
Booked on Laterooms.com about two hours prior to midnight check-in and that included a one hour drive. Excellent info on directions and parking prior to leaving Swansea. Very easy to find, overnight FREE parking and mid-day check-out plus excellent customer service and good lifts at hotel. Great for both city centre and the bay area which was about a ten minute stroll at most. Didn't eat but breakfast would have been about eight quid.

Cardiff is a great place to visit
Overall very good but avoid the orange juice if you opt to have breakfast there. Great position for both Cardiff bay and the city centre, the car park and neighbouring cinema/bowling alley and eateries were extremely busy although it was Saturday night! Excellent free parking included. Never been to Cardiff before but would highly recommend as there's lots to see and do, I've no doubt we'll be back again. Saturday nights do inflate the cost to much although seemed to be on a par with surrounding hotels.

Good, clean hotel in great location
Spent New Year in Cardiff Bay and the ease of staying at this Travelodge was fantastic. Check in was quick and efficient even though people were queuing and reception staff were really helpful. One of the cleanest, most efficient Travelodge we have stayed in. How nice to have lovely smiley staff even on New Years Eve. Location 5 mins walk to The Bay so will definately stay here again.
