Scottish gentleman at front desk was very helpful.
All the staff smiled.
convenient location, plenty of parking, room ok for price, tv reception is rubbish though (snowy picture in every room I've stayed in), bed comfy, clean sheets and towels
metro inn Walsall
Shabby decor and a bit run down but the bed linen was clean
Metro Inns Walsall
Room very dated and in need of basic maintenance.
Food in the restaraunt was very good. The hotel needed a good clean inside and out. Bit drubsy. Got what we PSID for?
Cheap and cheerful - Good potential
Couldn't Grumble for the price.
Staff very helpful, food and drink available so need need to go out if you don't want to. Plenty of parking on site. As for the room, carpet was in serious need of replacing, TV reception was very poor only a few channels available and then only some of the time. In desperate need of a refurb (Which I think was in progress). But at the end of the day for the money I paid it was good value for money but only for an overnight stay, any longer I would look elsewhere.
Very dated decor and furniture, threadbare carpets, bathroom with a few odd tiles here and there.
Bed was clean and reasonably comfortable. Cheap but you can see why, would not stay again.
The room was scruffy and the bathroom was dirty, no soaps or shampoo and badly maintained with hair left on shower walls.
I went down to reception to ask for soap and or shampoo and was given 1 tiny block of soap and told that they don't provide shampoo. We was told that we had to vacate the room by 10am which was fine till we were woken up at 8am by builders shouting, swearing and pulling the floor up just outside our bedroom door. When I went down to tell them at reception I just got "sorry I didn't know anything about it ". Don't book this hotel it very scruffy unclean and un-maintained
42" TV but handful of TV Channels
The Arial has still not been fixed - What is the point of having a 42" TV if only 2 or 3 channels work (some would not even tune in and most were scrambled).
Another reviewer reported this back in February - Its now April and still has not been fixed, so quite surprised. Rooms are basically a old style travelodge repainted and a few bits added. Bathroom had not been refurbed, was clean but old. I paid £34 on a same day booking, but probably more worth £25-£30 for a last minute booking, and considering its condition and the TV issue. Did not get a chance to eat in restaurant but quite glad as only 1 Vegetarian Main Meal looked limiting. The massive bed headboard looked like something from a 70's porn film. WiFi worked well and was good and free parking (I dont think the hotel was very full lots of empty spaces).
Metro Inns Walsall
Loads of potential, very reasonably priced, lovely room, just in the process of being re-vamped.
very welcoming, the food in the restaurant was excellent we had the rib eye medium rare and we thoroughly recommend it and the cooked breakfast was worth having.
The room was very basic we were at the front of the building there is a lot of traffic noise, would have liked an ironing board and iron in the room, and an extra couple of plug sockets but other than that we had a great stay.
