30 years of travelling and you rarely come across places like this.
A pleasure to stay here and one I will return to on business and leisure. Excellent value for money, first class service, superb food and attentive staff who where pleasant form the time I walked through the door to check out. A gem of a place who's staff and management should be applauded.
basic, but you don't come to Darlington for a holiday
Small hotel, very central.
Town house sympathetically reconverted back into a town house from a previous conversion. Friendly accomodating staff. Small rooms, great showers in well stocked bathroom. Wifi in rooms. Eggs are the Breakfast Chef's speciality. Would stay here again if I return to Darlington.
Staff were polite and courteous, the room excellent.
The hotel was surprisingly quiet for a Easter weekend but that suited us. The bar has a nice selection of spirits. And the breakfast which is included in the price of the rooms was brilliant. Would recommend to anyone.

The good bits:

Cocktail was poor
Parking is only available in short stay behind hotel. Other than Sunday when you can park all day for £!, you need to decide your exit time the night before and load up parking ticket. Hotel needs a deal with car park as this was a chore on a foul dark night. There are no pictures, magazines or hotel information in the room. Bare or minimalist. The emergency escape notice was propped on floor rather than fixed to wall. We were the only people at breakfast. Was it really necessary to hoover while we were eating. This is a lovely building and has been beautifully transformed from the old Register Office. It is not cheap and needs to sharpen the overall experience if it is going to survive.
