Arrived to find hotel closed.

Phoned and was given directions to car park and told someone on site. Arrived to be told tenants had "done a moonlight" by the guy on site but our booking was OK and he would be there for 1 night only to see to guests and cook breakfast which is exactly what happened. So, no bar, no restaurant and no service apart from breakfast. In fairness to the guy on site, he had dropped in at the deep end and he did his best. The room (room3) was clean, but the bathroom only had a hand held shower and the TV is positioned in the most ridiculous place and could only be seen if you stood in front of it. The windows are old and there is a lot of noise from the street below when the pubs empty plus the kebab shop next door. Good view of the Abbey and Tor.

Very welcoming with nice large room overlooking the Abbey and with views of the Tor.

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the room having stayed in more expensive places nearby which were less comfortable.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Unfortunately, we were up late and missed breakfast. The only small issue was the noise of a coach at about 6am in the morning in the street outside which woke me up.

Extractor fan noise all day terrible an chiller fan noise by night, don't go if light sleeper.

Breakfast not hot enough. Too expensive for stay, parking too hard to find on arriving an overgrown in weeds.

It was lovely.

The room was impeccably clean. Andy and Roberta couldn't have been kinder. We had a lovely room right on the main street, we could hear and see everything. The Tor, the abbey and the life that is Glastonbury. We went for this atmosphere and wouldn't have missed it for the world. However if you are a light sleeper I'd recommend you make the most of this beautiful hotel by asking for a room at the back. Nobody wants the customer comments to cause the owners to put ugly UPVC double glazing at the front of this beautiful building.

Relaxing couple of days

We called in at the Market House on our way back to Birmingham from the South coast.

Found it very welcoming. Ate there one evening, and food was good, breakfasts also good. A bit quiet as under new management - only changed 2 weeks before (could only book as a late room)

A comfortable stay

I spent a Saturday night here.

On arrival I received a warm welcome, and shown up to the room. This was a good size, and had a comfortable night. Breakfast the next morning was cooked to order and excellent.

excellent stay

Considering the new owners have just taken over they have turned this pub around.

I have no idea how they have got the place to the standard it is in such a short time. Friendly service with a clear passion for what they do, I will certainly stay there again.

Really great place to stay...we were so well looked after :-)

New owners had their hands full trying to catch up with themselves but or needs definitely came first and we would be sure to return.

Lovely room and fab breakfast

Very helpful and friendly staff, lovely place to stay

I can't praise the staff highly enough for their care during my all-too-brief stay in Glastonbury at the weekend.

I was offered help to bring my (considerable) amount of kit in and free parking not just for the night that I stayed, but for the whole of the next day too.

Shortbreak holiday

Blind in room hard to go up and down.

Nowhere to hang towels. Staff were very friendly when we did see them.. Our main complaint was the breakfast. It was lukewarm, soggy toast and the tomatoes and mushrooms were ice cold as if they had come out of a fridge. They had been cooked so hard to understand why. Staff doing breakfast seemed inexperienced and once we had been served we did not see them again. Even when we came down with our case and left the key there was still no one to speak to. Our almost full breakfast plates were still on the table.
