3Self Classified Hotel Ratings explained
79-81 High Street , Eastchurch, ME12 4EH
Located on the Isle Of Sheppey, about 20 miles from Maidstone, you’ll find one of the most friendly and inviting pubs on the Island. Located in the centre of the quintessentially English village of Eastchurch, this 19th Century pub has been the hub of the community for almost 200 years, and still retains all the charm and character you’d expect.

Whether you need to refresh a parched palate after a vigorous walk, or have a lazy Sunday lunch with the whole family - we offer a little something for everyone. With our cosy restaurant and open fire in the main bar area, The Shurland Hotel has all the appeal of a truly welcoming village pub.

We have seventeen modern, bright and airy rooms, all with en suite facilities. So, if you want to stay a night or two to explore some of the beautiful countryside (or do some serious shopping in Maidstone or Ashford!), then The Shurland Hotel makes the perfect base.

The Shurland Hotel offers a wide range of facilities including;

* The Crooked Billett Public House, serving traditional home cooked food, a selection of real ales and a choice of fine wines.
* The Billett Steakhouse, serving both traditional and modern British cuisine.
* Brand new Coffee Lounge.
* Brand new Island Gym and Powerhouse, fitness classes, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.
* Beauty and Therapy room providing a wide variety of treatments including massage and manicures.
* Beauty and Spa weekends - we have a range of packages available, from day visits to long weekend stays.
* Disabled access.
* Free large car park.

Large parties, children and well behaved dogs are all very welcome at The Shurland Hotel.

We are also the closest hotel to the Sheppey Prison Cluster - Elmley, Standford Hill and Swaleside - all three being within a five minute drive from the hotel. We offer corporate rates for companies and HMPS staff. The Shurland Hotel is also within a short drive of the RSPB bird reserve on the Elmley Marshes.

Good value work in progress.
A lovely peaceful hotel. A really comfortable bar area with great tables chairs and sofas.
Our room had a nice selection of hot drinks and biscuits which was regularly restocked.
Ensuite bathroom was nice and there were no shortage of nice fluffy white towels, also nice dove shower gel provided by hotel nice touch.
The bed was exceptionally comfortable and we slept like a couple of logs which was so relaxing to wake up to.
Unfortunately our room was above bar so was kept awake occasionally but noise stopped at around 11ish.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very high standard, excellent. Master chief presentation and taste.
The downstairs has been redecorated and most of the rooms too to a good high quality standard.
Unfortunately ours hadn't been done yet it's next on the list was small and adequate, infact manager gave us £50 off our bill as he said room was not the best but they had been fully booked when we booked online.
Perhaps the music in the bar and restaurant areas needed to be of more heart or smooth FM variety as the techno, pop, dance vibe was a bit too much for us foggies ! Plus the screen in bar didn't match the music. What about having news or another channel on with subtitles. A tad odd watching a video which didn't match what we heard. Lovely real fire in bar area.
Gym and spa looked lovely and was of high standard from what we saw.
Brilliant cooked breakfast in morning was fabulous, orange juice, coffee,toast and ceral.

Emergancy Accommodation
Loved this hotel, extremely friendly staff, very attentive to all needs.
Ideal location for out needs.
Loved the mixture of old and new, we stayed in the older part of the hotel
And even with the church and pretty busy road it was very quiet, the bed was very
Spacious and we slept extremely well.
The only negative feedback would be that the shower needs to be updated as the temperature
Was very unpredictable and became hotter than should have been on a few occasions.
Also bin needed in bathroom for disposal of sanitary products.
Restaurant was great, quality of our meals was lovely and very good value for money
Breakfast was great with a choice of cereals, full English and many other selections.
There is also the option to use the gym attached to the hotel for no extra cost.
We would definitely recommend and stay here again.
