Traditional Seaside Hotel.
This is exactly what you expect from a hotel at the seaside. It is freshly painted and has the bonus of a swimming pool, the parking is free although limited but the overflow car park is 200 metres away so that was fine. The staff are friendly, the price is good for height of season and the location is perfect for a wander down to the pier through the lovely Bournemouth Gardens.
The downside; we found the bed very uncomfortable although of course, mattresses are subjective, it was not for us. While everything had been cleaned there was mould growing on a miscellaneous ledge at height in the bathroom, the basin was not attached to the wall so presented a risk and when running a bath, the water was yellow! I drained the bath which left lots of black bits, after rinsing and running a second bath there was improvement but still not clear.
Breakfast room, the service was polite, friendly and swift. A selection of cold buffet and juices etc. It was strange that the conservatory area appeared to be for particular guests but that didn't bother us as the restaurant is bright and clean. The tea and toast was very prompt and very welcome while the full English was a mixed bag. It consisted of 1 x egg , cooked perfectly. 1/2 slice of fried bread, cooked perfectly. 1/2 tomato, 1 x thick slice of bacon ,lovely bacon but only one slice which was a shame as this was much more preferable to the sausage. 2 x button mushrooms, which were watery as if they had been soaking overnight. I x sausage, horrid, think it came from a budget range.
Super-sized screen in the spacious bar went down well as it was the world cup semi-final. The barman and other guests were friendly.
It is a shame as they have so many things right but after a bad night the yellow water running into a loose sink preceding the horrid mushrooms and sausage.
When we checked out we were going to mention a few bits but reception was busy so we deposited the key and left.

One night stay
Great value bed and breakfast. I didn't use the pool or sauna but did have a look and they seemed of good quality. Will definitely use again if in Bournemouth.

Excellent Service
All the staff were extremely friendly, room very nice and bed comfortable. Breakfast was superb. Parking was a bit of an issue, and we went down to the pool for an early morning swim when it was supposed to be open, but it was deserted. Would definitely stay again. Good value for money, very welcoming, and delicious food! Handy for both beach and town centre.
