Reviews - Geufron Hall Boo-tique B&B

4AA Assessed Bed and Breakfast Ratings explained
Geufron , Llangollen, LL20 8DY
Geufron HallBed and Breakfast is a luxury B&B located high above the town of Llangollen, nestled at the foot of Dinas Bran Castle in a beautiful rural location. We have stunning views of the Vale of Llangollen, an area so beautiful that it is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and a World Heritage Site.

We offer a choice of four bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, free internet access, a sitting room, dining room and the use of the paved terraces and extensive gardens. We encourage guests to potter around the house, grounds and surrounding countryside; you’ll be able to hang up your car keys for the length of your stay because you just won’t need them. Tea, coffee and snacks are available throughout the day and we are fully licenced so you can sit and sip a chilled glass of wine on the terrace while you watch the sun go down.

Our motto, and guiding ethos, is “we can be whatever you want us to be.”

New Year Home from Home
Our stay at Geufron Hall is one of the most positive bed and breakfast experiences we have ever had. We booked in to stay on New Year’s Eve and we'd been following this fairly new B&B on twitter for around a year, so had seen some of the more recent room refurbishments take place and loved the ethos and quirkiness of the place. Our room was Egwlyseg - an annexe to the property, which was charming and had an adjacent terrace and lovely views of the vale below. One of the hosts Carlton, said that in the Summer a BBQ is available on the terrace and as lovely as this room was I think it would be SUPER lovely in Summer. To be able to sit and sip wine warmed by the chimenea and beneath the twinkling stars would be a heavenly experience. If you are not sure footed then you may prefer to choose another beautiful room within the house as the path up to the annexe is a bit precarious.
We were greeted by Carlton on arrival and offered warm home-made Welsh cakes and tea in the conservatory in front of the log burner. This was a lovely welcome after our journey and set us up for the walk to the extremely nearby Castell Dinas Brân (highly recommended for the stunning views).
Our room itself housed a king sized bed, a seating area looking out onto the valley and the terrace and a pristine shower room, with a fantastic power shower and the most amazing grapefruit scented toiletries! Smelt divine!
Loved the addition of robes and slippers too and gorgeously fluffy towels. The tea tray was a bit special also, with fresh coffee and biscotti.
Even though the house is quite tucked away up a hill (ideal for us, we prefer that sort of solitude) it was by no means isolated and Carlton very kindly offered to drive us into town and collect us should we wish to venture out for an evening meal, but as the accommodation was so wonderful we decided that we would stay and eat a light supper of delicious soup made and served beautifully by Beth, with plentiful bread and just hunker down and see the new year in at the property. Brilliantly, our hosts have a conservatory with wood burner and iPod Dock and comfy sofas which guests are encouraged to use and so we were left very much to our own devices, although our hosts were on hand should we have needed them. Carlton & Beth have got the balance of being available but unobtrusive, absolutely right. They were solicitous hosts, but in a very calm and understated way. Perfect for us. They have only been running the house as a business for a couple of years but they already appear consummate professionals. They do a terrific job.
The breakfast was THE best breakfast I have ever eaten at a B & B - delicious sausage, beautiful fresh bread and homemade juices and smoothie shot! Lovely touch! Loved the Lava bread too. We also found the convenience of being able to make our own toast, really brilliant. Often on overnight stays I find there is never enough toast! I am currently exploring a Gluten Free diet and I would bet that even that would be catered for at Geufron Hall. Beth and Carlton work very hard at looking after their guests and to us that is the deal breaker. We will definitely DEFINITELY be returning and soon. Can't wait to try the other rooms too. Thank you for having us at your beautiful home Beth & Carlton.
A great start to the New Year.

THE BEST
