Was very happy staying here.
Very friendly and nice atmosphere. Beds were very comfortable.
Welcoming and very friendly
The B&B is in an impressive 1900 built manor.
It's is clean and the keepers are friendly and welcoming. They were prepared to keep staff on after the 10pm closing time to accomodate me potentially arriving late. Breakfast is continental and I appreciate that and hate the heavy English breakfast and prevent the one offered here. I stayed in a single room and shared a bath and toilet with other double room. This was not a problem as everything was super clean.
All in all value for money, clean and friendly very close to Gatwick.
Great family room
Enjoyed a lovely stay for a family wedding.
Stayed two nights in the family room. It was large with a double, single, bunks and cot and a recently refurbished bathroom with walk in shower. Good self service breakfast and the children loved watching the planes from the airport. Would stay here again.
Great value excellent friendly service and only about 10 minutes from Gatwick airport south terminal.
Perfect for my Business Needs
I stayed here for 4 nights and will definitely do the same again.
It's an old manor house, it is not a brand new 'premier inn' type of building, so it has character. It's in the country, but pubs are within walking distance and it's a very short drive into town for supermarkets etc. The views over the fields to the front are lovely first thing in the morning. The owner couldn't have been more helpful. I like the breakfast format - continental breakfast, help yourself as early as you like to a really good selection of cereals, toast, coffee, juice, yoghurts and fruit. I would recommend Manor House to business travellers who want peace and quiet after a long day and also those who want an overnight stay before a flight from Gatwick as it's also in a perfect location for that.
A great value option for pre flight stay and parking for Gatwick.
The room was very homely if not a little dated.
Very nice shower room. The only negative comment is that one of the beds in the room had a loose broken headboard which made a noise every time you moved in the slightest - not good when you are a very light sleeper. The owners were very pleasant and accommodating.
Adequate for an overnight stay
I booked a single room for 5 nights.
It was small but clean room and shared bathroom - very tiny television. Price was £5.00 more than stated on their website. The serve-yourself continental breakfast ended at 8:30 am. Owners were more business-like than friendly. Fairly remote location - closest pub is a 15 minute walk. Free transport to Airport (but not later than 10 am). It's near the back of Gatwick Airport so it's a good location if you enjoy plane spotting. The Crawley region is very picturesque.
Manor House -
Room with 3 single beds (No en suite) - The room & décor were as tired as I was.
I think it was clean but because everything is so old its difficult to tell. The single bed I slept in was sweat inducing (due to the plastic protection sheets underneath) and uncomfortable, (age, no doubt) which meant disturbed sleep though-out the night(s), fortunately I had to leave early. You'll not need an alarm clock either as the 1st plane takes off from LGW at approx. 05.45 and you'll hear that as it fly's directly over this place & then every plane every 10 mins thereafter... Beware the extra's too - not advertised 3% charges for debit or cc use. No Comment on food/breakfast as I didn't have any. Manor House is way overpriced for what it is & offers.
Response from hotel
The guest booked a single standard room for 2 nights at a total of £85.00. The comment left was a quiet room, en-suite and non smoking required. We rang the guest and explained that we only had the standard room left which isn't en-suite and he said he would take a chance. The room has three single beds in and each has a mattress protector, for hygiene reasons. A comfortable bed is a personal choice and maybe he could have tried the other two, which may have been more to his liking. We are definitely not under the flight path and no planes fly directly over the Manor house. We are situated to the south of the runway and are only 10 minutes from Gatwick, as advertised. Great location if travelling through the airport. Self serve continental breakfast is available and included in the room rate, as advertised. Available regardless whether required or not. The bathroom available with this room is a new suite and shower, fitted and decorated this year. As no comment was made about this, we are assuming it was to his liking.
I wanted to respond as the final comment about being overpriced we feel is totally unjustified. We only had this room available for the two nights required, which we feel indicates our prices, service and value for money are realistic.
We do charge 3% for any card transactions, which is clearly stated on our website.
Single room review
Stayed in the single room.
Great value for money for a one or 2 night stay. Breakfast included can't go wrong really. Will stay again
