Pancras Road, London, N1C 4TB
Luxury Boutique hotel 25m from Eurostar at St Pancras International & actually part of King's Cross Station

Newly reopened in April 2013 in the heart of London's King's Cross St Pancras this Grade II listed luxury boutique hotel has undergone a magnificent £40m renovation capturing the timeless elegance of the original hotel: broad corridors, sweeping staircases & impeccable design throughout. Our intention is to evoke the romance of bygone rail travel & to preserve a sense of history & style with 91 rooms luxuriously restored and every item of furniture hand crafted by artisans, selected for its quality & provenance. The hotel offers three room categories:- Couchette, Wainscot, Cubitt each with a Hypnos double bed, 500 thread count Egyptian cotton linen, high ceilings, abundant natural light & Loewe HD TV's. The hotel also provides complimentary entertainment comprising super-fast 500MB bandwidth WiFi accessible throughout the building, 72 movie library, a mixture of classic & new releases, 40 audio books & 6 curated playlists by top DJ's; we only hope you have time to enjoy it all. A unique feature are the Pantries on each floor, this quirky concept is a collective space where you can retreat to pick up a retro treat or homemade cake, alternatively browse our book collection or read the news of the day. Welcome relief for the parched and the peckish can be found in Plum + Spilt Milk, GNH Bar & Kiosk. Set in an elegant and informal space created for people to meet, eat, work & socialise, Plum + Spilt Milk has sweeping views over the new King's Cross piazza & St Pancras. An outstanding kitchen brigade is headed up by Michelin starred Chef Mark Sargeant featuring classic British dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients. For those passing through or stopping for the night, GNH Bar features a decadent interior to house a glamorous continental cocktail bar in central London. Alternatively for the finest food on the go Kiosk serves the best New York deli style sandwiches & Monmouth coffee. Stacked on artisan bread a Hot Salt Beef or classic Reuben is more than just a sandwich.

Disappointment
I was very relieved that I only had to stay one night in my Superior Double room which was rather "snug" and "bijou". The room was very clean and impeccably presented but the space allocated was too little. The bed which was only a Double and not a Queen or King size only just fitted the room and the door to the ensuite had been made into two glass doors which were difficult to negotiate alongside the bed. There was very little hanging space for clothing and for two persons completely inadequate if they were staying anymore than one night. There was a hanging light from the ceiling over a small table in the room and my partner and I must have collided with it at least three times each as it was at head height. The reception area was impossible for anyone with luggage and in fact I broke an expensive vase which I purchased in Budapest and was carrying in a shoulder bag. This happened while trying to negotiate the narrow double doors from the reception area to the front of the building. The doors slammed against the bag and shattered the vase. I will not be staying at this hotel again as I can find more spacious and convenient accommodation at other nearby hotels for the same tariff as charged at the Great Northern. I will also be informing my Friends and colleagues of my decision and the reasons for my decision.
Thank you.

celebration night out before eurostar the next morning
Great hotel, perfect for enjoying the area, our rooms were fantastic, the rooms were very comfortable and the double glazing ensured a perfect nights sleep. This is ideal for the Eurostar as only a minutes walk away. We also enjoyed a drink at the end of the evening outside and even met the owner Jeremy, who was a great guy and bought us a drink. Well done G N H!

Air condition was not working, terriable wedding night
It was our wedding night and we live in just walking distance from hotel. Room was very clean and tidy. But we could not sleep because of air condition. We called reception at 11 pm and told about air condition. The reply was, "please turn off air condition so room temperature will be okay". Horrible !!!
we paid 185 pounds and this is what we got !!!
But their restaurant was great and service was super. Hotel was very clean
