Reviews - The Lamb Inn

4Self Classified Small Hotel Ratings explained
The Square, Sandford , Crediton, EX17 4LW
The Lamb Inn is a 16th century former coaching house with open fires, comfy sofas, stunning contemporary bedrooms and superb award winning food. We are a minute from Crediton and 15-20 mins from Exeter st David's and the university. We have recently won the Taste of Devon award and South West Dining Pub of the year 2011/12. The Lamb are also listed in Alastair Sawdays Special Places to Stay, the Good Pub Guide the AA Good Pub Guide and CAMRA's Good Beer Guide.
The bars are simple but warm and welcoming, bedrooms are luxurious but modern with highest quality beds, flat screen tv's and some with underfloor heating.

So relaxing and comfortable did not want to leave
We arrived to this little gem of a place late Saturday afternoon, it was busy with locals, children and dogs which to us makes a place, so instantly we felt very relaxed. After having a very nice pint of Ale we were shown to our room by a lovely young man who made us feel nothing was too much trouble.
Later on we went back down for dinner, one of the most excellent meals we have had in a long time, Crab Lasagne to start for me and my partner had the quail and the a good old fashioned steak cook to perfection, after which we decided that it would be a good idea to rest after eating the meal as it was proving a mission to sit up...
The room was lovely, uncluttered with a very nice interior. the bed was extremley comfortable and we had no problems sleeping at all, we was a little concerned about noise considering we were in a pub but nope no problem at all and we were above the main bar!!!
Breakfast was top draw, a very relaxing homely yet luxurious place to stay....they have those awards for a reason.
Would defo recomend (and i have) and would certainlt stay again.

Friendly welcome on the first night. Room comfy enough but like so many hotel/B&B rooms, the level of lighting was very poor and there was nowhere to sit and use a laptop. The room was also very hot and, with underfloor heating, there seemed to be no way to turn down the temperature.
The room was also directly over the bar area and was very noisy.
The food in the evening was good.

Fine quality
Room and food excellent, but a little pricey fro a pub and they don't take AmEx.

Highly recommended
I'd gladly come again. Only the one slice of toast at breakfast, but I'm sure this was an oversight.
