Rossett Hall Hotel
Unfortunately there were marks on the walls and the position of TV wasn't great when trying to watch from bed.
Breakfast was very poor and to be charge £10pp was highly over priced.
Bargain of the century
I reviewed deals in trivago and found LateRooms had an executive including breakfast for £7 yes £7.
I thought they had recently re-opened or a wedding had cancelled however on checking in it appears to have been an error in the price on the website so I got a real bargain. At check-in girl was friendly and professional and on reviewing the booking honoured the deal so in my eyes handled professionally. Understandably she asked if she could take a photocopy of email from LateRooms. She wanted the manager to check the "deal" was still not available on the website. Plenty of parking on site with beautiful grounds situated in a nice little village and ideal for a future visit with my partner as we go to Chester (and Cheshire Oaks) when in the area. Rooms are the norm for independent hotels with character - clean with all the usual facilities. Did not eat dinner at the hotel; however car park seemed full which suggested a popular spot for the locals. Breakfast in the morning was buffet style and was okay (if I had been paying full rate to give a balanced overview). In 4 in a bed style would I stay again, probably yes.
Hotel needs to be up dated. Our room was shabby. Staff friendly.
Our room was shabby, it needed decorating and a new bathroom fitted.
The shower dripped constantly and could be heard ALL night. The TV had a loud buzz which made it impossible to watch .
This was reported to reception. Breakfast was served till 9:30 but we entered the dinning room at 9:20 to find that the hot food had been there since 7:30 the start of breakfast. The eggs were hard and the bacon dry and tough. Not worth £10 a head . Won't be staying again.
Poor restaurant service let it down
Room was nice, hotel was nice just the restaurant really let it down.
If there was a function on in the hotel you had to go outside in the rain to access the restaurant. The service itself was not of a standard you would expect of a restaurant anywhere. The food itself was nice but the staff were either non existent or busy chatting to each other. Would be much better if they had a little training in customer service and how to lay a table.
Rossett Hall Hotel
Much improved since previous visit !
Rossett Hall Hotel
A pleasant return to Rossett Hall where it was nice to be recognised by at least one member of staff.
Our evening meal was very good, showing an improvement from our last stay.
Reception staff talk to you as a human being
Welcome we received at Reception was very friendly and helpful, but once we got to the room, it was all downhill.
Room was freezing cold, half the lights weren't working and the room itself badly needed re-furbishing. I went down to reception to report my concerns and was offered an alternative family room. The only plus point of this room was at least the heating was on, so we agreed to opt for the 2nd room. When we transferred baggage, it was then we found human hairs in the bath and on the bathroom floor area, clearly it had not been cleaned. I reported my findings to the friendly receptionist in the morning, after what was a very good breakfast (only +), but instead of recognising and providing at the very least a part-refund, she simply confirmed the full price and took payment. I stay in dozens of hotels annually on business trips and if rarely there is any issue, hotels go the extra mile to ensure at the very least they sympathise. We will be staying in this area at least once a month for the next 2/3 years, but it wont be at the Rossett Hall Hotel.
Ok hotel , breakfast ok but plated up
