you get what you pay for
parking a bit of a problem for vans.
spare wheel stolen during our stay.
Very basic budget room
you get what you pay for really.
Not very decent just a place to sleep. Very noisy on ground floor. Shower was not used as it was very unwelcoming. Do not recommend this place at all unless you cannot find anywhere else.
A health hazard of a hotel.
This establishment should be shut down - it is a health hazard!
When I arrived I was asked to pay £45.00, I thought I had paid online, after phoning my daughter on my mobile twice, as I had to phone to find out what the problem was with having to pay twice...Apparently, when your card details are taken, when you book online, no money is taken from one's account at that time, only if you don't turn up?.
I felt embarassed not knowing this. The wiring in the room looked unsafe. I was asked online if I had any food allergies to which I replied 'gluten free'. However when the waitress asked me what I would like, Sausage, beans, egg & toast. I replied I had requested a 'gluten free brekfast the waitress hadn't a clue what I was taking about. I told her my about my online request, still no joy... therefore I ended up with two fried eggs and baked beans which I shouldn't have eaten, however, I was very hungry. The coffee was ok, filtered at least. Parking. was on the wide pavement close to passing pedestrians and a busy road...still it is London. There was often no one on reception. The bed and toilet were clean...I didn't fancy using the shower.
London Shelton Hotel
Hotel generally very run down.
Room was sparse and cold. the "tea and coffee" facilities consisted of one tea bag each and one UHT milk. The radiator was only on very low, and not all of the time. Considering that we stayed in Winter this was not adequate. I had to sleep in my clothes on the second night becasue it was so cold. The plug in fan heater cut out as soon as we switched it on. The bathroom was freezing and the tiles and grout were dirty. There were no hand towels. The shower head could not be attached to the wall and the drainage was very poor. We were woken up early in the morning by a person shouting very loudly outside our room. The only good point was that the breakfast room was clean and nice and the food was good.
Not that good at all!
Very disappointing and very scruffy, and less than basic.
I insisted on moving to a better room that was slightly better (and only slightly). There were no light shades, lamps and the walls were so thin you could hear everything in the next room (do people never sleep!?). The TV didn't work and the shower was temperametal. However, the hotel was very close to the railway station, which made getting around very easy.
Though for london prices I suppose shouldn't ask for more. The good points was it was comfortable and clean on the surface tho under the bed was very dusty. The bathroom was clean but falling apart. It was very quiet which was nice . The breakfast was terrible and served on a basement that smelled of damp. Wouldn't return
poor quality hotel,if you can call it a hotel at the best.45 pound a night and worth about 20 tops but then again it is London....needs an update that's all i can say then maybe worth the money.only stay very last resort as what I did.
A bit dodgy
All round good location - right by the train station.
The room was a bit dodgy - unfinished and jagged. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend, but it was good for a cheap nights sleep.
