The Rose and Crown Inn Trent
Lovely warm welcome and excellent service.
Breakfast impressive and food in the restaurant very nice.
Charming In in lovely location
Our one night stay was really great - the service was warm and friendly, the food excellent and the room very comfortable.
The view from the rooms in early morning with the sun just risen is lovely.
Could not fault this hotel, the staff were all brilliant.
The food was excellent and the service was very good. Would not hesitate to stay here again.
LOVELY !!! Pure & simply
my partner & I have visited the Rose & Crown twice, staying deliberately in the same room.
We had a patio area over looking the country side. The room was very comfortable, clean, everything that we could possibly need for a break away from the norm (HUGE) bathroom !!. & the food was out of this world, especially the evening meal, have never experienced such wonderful food
No Thornes in The Rose or The Crown
We were area hunting ready to relocate and visited Dorset last month staying in Shaftsbury.
The Room was great althought with high ceilings and exposed beams cob webs were always going to be a problem. Useage of the wardrobe would have been a bit of a problem had we been staying for longer than 3 nights with restricted access due to the Bed position. However, our intitial greeting on arrival was very welcoming and the staff was extremely friendly and interested in our conversation and comments with regard the various areas we had visited and advise on other areas. The food was great although could have done with a greater choice, but the quality was lovely. Would stay again and would certainly visit if we move to the area.
The little extras count...
We booked all three rooms for a family wedding in the area and were truly impressed by the warm welcome from all the staff team and the little extras that made our stay very enjoyable.
(examples included putting a light on in each of our rooms in anticipation of our late return, refreshing ice in the room so that we had chilled wine on arrival back, providing complimentary coffee when enjoying the papers in the snug.. the list goes on. We ate in the restaurant one evening and enjoyed a la carte breakfasts - all beautifully presented and delicious. The only thing which would improve the experience still further would be to have a drawer to put clothes away in our rooms, to have a place for the (very nice complimentary) shower gel in the shower and to be able to turn on /off the towel rail in the room.
I have eaten here before and each time the food has been of an exceptional standard .
The staff are lovely , and so when given the chance to stay I eagerly took it . They have refurbished an annexe to a fabulous atandard , very high end , with super comfy beds , beautiful linen , and a great drench shower, when you add the food and the views to the mix , it is unbeatable
Perfect for a country break
Excellent meals and accommodation, but above all the staff were outstanding in their attitude and nothing was too much trouble - they clearly enjoyed their work and it showed.
Great country views from our bedroom, which was immaculately presented and maintained. Could not fault the place. Just be careful - there is another pub with the same name and a Sherborne address!.
From the rooms, to the service to the food, all was excellent at the Rose and Crown Inn.
The rooms were clean and inviting and full of thoughtful touches that perfectly enhanced our stay. Fresh milk, coffee and cookies on arrival and a delicious evening meal with attentive and polite staff meant every need was taken care of. The views from the rooms are stunning and in its peaceful country setting with luxurious beds I slept really well. I would highly recommend this to anyone needing a place to stay near Sherborne.
Very grateful that we were allowed to check in early to allow us to prepare for a wedding.
Excellent quality of cleansing products in shower room. Coffee/tea/water tray provided but no milk so my husband had to leave our room in the morning to cross the gardens to get some from the Inn, the only issue during our stay. This would not put us off staying there again. Breakfast provided superb, with delicious local fruit juice. Lovely views from bedroom across country-side and very "out of the way". A delightful part of the country.
