4Self Classified Bed and Breakfast Ratings explained
, Colvend, DG5 4QA
Springfield is a recently modernised extended cottage set in mainly open countryside just outside the village of Colvend.
We offer comfortable bedrooms and public areas and a warm welcome for all our guests.
Colvend is an ideal centre for exploring this beautiful, but largely unknown, area of Scotland. We are witin a mile of sandy beaches, several golf courses are nearby - the closest only a half mile away, castles, gardens, historic ruins all within a few miles. The is a local deer park and at Kirkcudbright an animal park. Great shopping, local beers - the list of things to do and see is almost endless

Fantastic rural location
We traveled to the Colvend Coast to do some walking with our dogs & stayed overnight at the Springfield. The room we stayed in was at the front of the house & although it over looked the road there was no noise. The room its self had one huge kingsize bed & a single bed. The room was clean & had everything you need, hair drier, straighteners, iron, ironing board, kettle, tv, sterio & fridge to name but a few. We took our 2 dogs with us & the owners even left dog treats in the room for them which was a lovely touch. Keep up the good work!!!!

Home-from-home on the Dumfries and Galloway coast
Enjoyed a very comfortable stay at Springfield. Shirley and Andrew couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming. The room was spotless and the hosts had obviously gone to a lot of effort in providing a comprehensive 'library' of quality literature on walks and attractions in the local area. The fantastic breakfast alone is worth a visit with a vast array of fruit and cereals available in addition to the cooked to order menu. We would not hesitate to stay at Springfield again and missed being welcomed 'home' by the Fox and Badgers when we had left!

Recommended place to stay
A warm welcome and a well equipped, smart and comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent. Well placed for Dalbeattie and Mabie 7 Stanes mountain biking, and also (a little further) Kirroughtree. Plenty of off road parking at rear of property.

Very accomotdating
Overall the Springfield B&B was very friendly and accommodating. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, with every amenity that made the stay extremely homely. We were welcome to wander around the gardens that are big and hold lots of wild life right at the door step with lovely flower beds. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide range of food available and all were tasty and satisfying. I would gladly recommend this accommodation as a lovely place to stop over.
