Tiny room and cramped stairs to get there, but the window opened.
Shower good. Clean. Wifi did not work - signal OK, but nothing came through it. Breakfast croissants elderly and coffee lukewarm.
Fine if you just want a bed near Victoria for a night.
A nice, normal place
If you are looking for a fairly priced, nice and normal place near Victoria this is for you.
There are a couple of good restaurants nearby, the train and coach stations are about 10 minutes away. The staff was helpful and polite, and the room was clean and okay. The bed is comfy too. Nothing special or outstanding, but for the price it is perfectly fine.
i stayed here for business, the single room was small, as to be expected, but had all facilities that were needed, a nice, clean and compact bathroom with shower and supplied shower gel.
There was aklso tea and coffee making facilities. As a lone female traveller i felt safe as the doors appeared very secure. My only gripe would be that as a business traveller i do not have time for the breakfast as it doesnt start until 730. This hotel is also far superior to its sister hotel the Grapevine.
Great location, reasonable value for money
The hotel is conveniently close to Victoria station and several nice restaurants/pubs are easily reachable within only a couple of minutes walk.
The room and bathroom were very space-efficient (I.e. small) but apparently not exceptionally compared to London hotel standards. Bathroom was modernly renovated and bed comfortable - sufficient for 3 nights when spending a long weekend with friends in the city and mostly being outside anyways.
Some good points;some bad
On the plus side, very polite and helpful reception.
Everything clean and spotless, particularly the bathroom, which looked and felt pretty new. On the down side, the bathroom was not en suite, which frankly should be a given for a room at £120 for the night. Secondly the room (a "superior" room for two) was full of beds - two double beds and two single beds !!. Hardly any room to swing a cat therefore. Also the bedroom was not actually in the hotel, but in a separate building, a few doors down the road. Not ideal. Pillows are nearly always a disappointment and this room was no exception to the rule. Bedside lights were not working, leaving only ceiling lights available. Breakfast was also a bit disappointing. Served in the basement, and there were mouse traps in evidence on the floor, although truth be told, we didn't actually see any mice. Available food was passable. Nothing special though.
Fine for what we paid
Good convenient location, breakfast was good.
However we had booked a superior twin room but was allocated a double room which was cramped. We raised the issue with reception who said nothing could be done until the following day. As we were only there for three nights there was no point changing.
Great little place too stay
It was centrally locate, supermarkets on the same street.
10 min walk from Victoria station. Rooms were clean and well presented and good choice with breakfast too. Ideal for a weekend break. I would stay here again if I was in London. :) very happy.
One night stay
There was nothing to complain about here.
It was friendly and most importantly, clean. The room was on the small side and was mostly taken up with bed but for one night this really didn't matter. Breakfast was ample and there was plenty of variety. It is within walking distance of Victoria Station.
Basic accom for single room, choose for price only
I stayed in a single room in the neighbouring Grapes hotel (it looks as though they are owned by the same company).
The room met all of my basic needs, but it wasn't a place which invited you to stay. There was a missive crack in the basin, and the tap was loose in the fitting. The room was next to the street, near to the hotel's front door; and the single glazing let in a lot of traffic noise and smoke from the smokers gathering outside. On the plus side however, the bed was very comfortable (recently replaced?), the free Wifi was reasonably speedy and there was a nice touch sensitive bed light. The dining room was pleasantly set out, with a variety of cereals, porridge, toast and danish pastries, on a serve yourself buffet basis.
In summary - you get what you pay for!
