Just had 1 night in this B&B lovely people nice rooms highly recommended food amazing
Lovely hosts, shame about the room
The hosts were welcoming and the hotel was clean, but the room let it down.
It was a room with a cupboard for a toilet and shower, but the sink was next to the window next to the bed with one small mirror for which i had to stand on my tip-toes to look in. Wasnt worth the £90 i would have been more happy with around £65-70. You would need to get a taxi into town if you want to have a drink the taxi is around £8 one way.
Wonderful rural location
Situated just outside Whitby.
Ideal if you have spent all day outside in the fresh air. Everything you could wish for is provided on site. Clean room, en suite shower, television tea and coffee facilities provided.Evening meal served either in the bar or restaurant. An excellent choice of starters, main courses and desserts. The cooked breakfast was prepared to order. The hosts made you feel welcome from the minute you arrived until the time you left. Excellent value for money. Will definitely consider returning the next time we need a weekend away, Thank you.
Needs updating, overpriced
"En suite" room was basic bedroom divided from WC and shower room by the emergency stairs exit.
Radiator in shower room not working properly. Curtains need linings which will exclude morning light and keep in some warmth. TV only limited number of terrestrial channels. No WiFi. Room over priced at £90, £70/night would be more appropriate. Decent breakfasts. Standard but ok pub food for evening meal in lounge with open wood fires. Pleasant hosts and service. Plenty of parking. Village not attractive.
Excellent stay really enjoyed, the view was fantastic, only negative was the height of some of the ceilings my husband is 6ft4in and could not stand properly in some places of the bedroom but this is to be expected with the age of the property.
Very polite staff, nice tidy rooms with just the right amount of space to move about.
Very cozy would definitely recommend you stay here if your looking for a short stay get away out in the country. Thankyou.
traditional and friendly
This a traditional pub run by a lovely young couple.
They were very welcoming. The room was cosy and clean with a tv, tea making facility and en-suite bathroom which was spotless. The menu was good, reasonably priced and very nice. I would definitely book again.
quick visit, really last minute
Lucky enough to find a room,at such short notice.

second a pain with a other guest being noisy and a pain and kept trying to open our door and kept annoying us. Wasn't happy.
Told the owners they where upset we had a bad night and was going to sort the problem out.
Room cosy, could so with updating in areas
Excellent tea/coffee in rooms and if you run out couple was there to give more and there hospitality was 10/10.
Excellent. Food breakfast and dinner couldn't complain at all. Especially being a cook myself 10/10.
Location a bit out of the way from the centre but peaceful.
No buses had to get taxis which was costly but ok if you shared with other guests.
Overall a cosy pub/hotel with great hosts .
Our hosts gave us a warm & friendly welcome which made us feel very much at home.
The pub menu was extensive & varied & we were pleased to have meals there every evening throughout our stay. Breakfasts were also excellent.. The pub location is quiet & rural.
