Excellant stay, ideal for whitby 7 minutes up the road, friendly staff, good food, clean and tidy nice ambience, hard to fault.
Bank holiday weekend stay
The hotel is in a beautiful location.
The breakfast and our evening meals were superb.
Staff were lovely, very efficient, and helpful
Only criticism was my partner found the bed very hard and uncomfortable. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.
Netherby House Sleights
A fine Victorian country house with mature gardens to the rear. The view of the Esk valley from the summerhouse is breathtaking and is etched into my memory.
Very very romantic
The Hotel is within easy reach of the coast and moors (literally five to ten minutes by car)
We are planning to visit the Netherby again later this summer. For us it really was that good
Although the standard of the food was on the whole high I did have on or two complaints.
There was no vegetarian or low calorie options on the menu and I personally found the limited choices quite restrictive as there were several things on there that I didn't like. Had I been staying for a week instead of just a weekend I would have found the menu boring as it was unchanging.
Disappointing by comparison
Good location, pleasant gardens, nice views.
Accommodation was very clean and staff were friendly but certain things need attention such as the TV reception, which was Vvery intermittent. Also the door to the bathroom (Eskdale room) was extremely stiff and needed full body weight to push it open. The breakfast was well presented (despite being covered in parsley and black pepper) but the choice was poor, - nice fruit but no yoghurt. I felt that this B&B was somewhat over priced and have enjoyed much more for far less. I wouldn't recommend.
Good service, food, accommodation and beautiful gardens with excellent rural scenery
All was great, would stay again.
