100% would recommend it to a friend
The accommodation was above and beyond expectation. It was simply beautiful, but after that it all
When we arrived at the accommodation the owner explained to us that she had a very bad back, but showed us to our room, which was simply delightful curious where everything was, including television.
When we got up next morning we were informed we could not have breakfast because the owner was in bed with a very bad back. Indeed, the owner's husband had called for the paramedics. We were offered scrambled eggs for breakfast, but that is all and did not know what they were going to do the following morning because the lady that they had called in didn't know how to cook on electric so through our own choice. We did not have breakfast on the Sunday morning on the Monday morning we had burnt bacon the owners husband could not work. The computer so as yet we have not paid their going to send us a bill later adding to the problems was the television in the room did not work could not be repaired. I was offered the chance to sit in the owners lounge and watch television. Of course I could not do that. It would have been so uncomfortable and embarrassing. Under normal circumstances, I do not think this situation would happen. Apart from the owner being so unwell. In essence, it was a miserable stay.
Response from hotel
This is the person who wrote in our visitors book "beautiful house and lovely stay". Very different to what they wrote in the review, having demanded and been given, a large reduction.
Yes, the tv did not work, which was unfortunate and they were offered 2 very acceptable alternatives, which they declined.
With regard to the breakfast, my wife was taken ill on Saturday morning at 8.00am. Our first breakfast was at 8.15am and a great friend came at very short notice to use a "foreign kitchen and cooker". Yes, the menu was limited on the first day and he stated he "fully understood". On Sunday breakfast was declined because, in front of the other guests he stated " it was a tradition to have breakfast with the friends whose party they attended on the Saturday evening". They had a full breakfast on Monday. My wife is still confined to bed with a very severe case of sciatica and had 2 visits from paramedics on the Saturday and is taking Morphine for the pain.
The other guests who stayed at the weekend wrote in the visitors book "what a fab find, awesome room and lovely breakfast, get well soon, Felicity." Their experiences can't have been that different! I rest my case.
Quaint little place
Lovely, quirky little place.
Spotless clean room. friendly, helpful landlady. Breakfast was lovely. The bed was so comfortable I wanted to take it home with me. The water pressure wasn't great in the shower, if you want a bulk standard, chain hotel, this won't be for you. If you want something with character and a warm, friendly welcome, this is perfect.

Every nice could not fault it.
Really nice rooms and couple running the business.
Would definitely recommend it and would definitely stay there again.
Cosy and comfy room, really clean, really friendly, really helpful.
A haven. One small gripe, the vegetarian sausages at breakfast were not great, but we would stay there again.
