100% would recommend it to a friend
Enjoyed a 2 night business trip at this B&B.
Roy is an excellent host and does a brilliant breakfast. Very helpful advice about local places to go and see. Note the B&B does not accept cash (Card / BACS only)
Room was ok, a bit dated, but fine .
Curtains were a bit thin so light from the traffic lights outside illuminated my room. I mentioned this to the owner in the morning and he is going to address this. Good response. His breakfast was legendary , full English to make any builder proud.
Carlisle's hidden gem
After looking at this on Trip Advisor this hotel didn't disappoint, from arriving & meeting Roy (owner) to leaving, he makes you feel really welcome & the breakfast is perfect.
Overall experience excellent, when staying in Carlisle I wouldn't stay anywhere else.
The room was clean and comfortable and the owner was very friendly.
Lovely place to stay.
Roy, the host, was fantastic, a wealth of knowledge on the local area and welcoming. Had a fabulous time and would stay again.
Excellent B&B in Carlisle suburb of Stanwix
Can't fault it: warm welcome, spacious comfy room, lovely breakfast cooked to order, and all at a great price.
Will be going back..
Very welcoming and homely.
Room was clean and pleasant. Would return in the future. One of the best b&bs I've stayed in.
Not especially easy to find without google maps, but who doesnt have google maps these days .
located next to the crown pub as it turned out, though i heard no noise from the pub. the pub was and is a favourite of mine from my timne at university. staying alone as i was meeting my parents at the graution ceemony the next day. the low cost in comaprison to what other friends were paying for other places in carlisle made me fear for the worse, however i couldnt have been more wrong. both my room and the house as a whole very clean, and very spacious, free wifi & breakfast included. the breakfast was beautiful and very filling. roy was kind approachable and very knowledgeable of the area. would happily have paid more & will certainly be using this as my base when i visit carlisle in the future. i cannot wait to enjoy the breakfast again. surpassed my expectations and lead to a fantastic graduation stay. thank you
Short Break in Carlisle
Stayed 3 nights at the Malborough Guest House which was an excellent choice.
Friendly and helpful proprietor who created belly busting breakfasts and nothing was too much bother, he even provided gluten free bread. Nice accommodation in a good location. Would recommend.
Great Place to stay
On arrival I was greeted by the owner, who took me up to my room, which was very clean and tidy, he showed me were everything was and explained the door locking routine.
The best breakfast I have had for a long time, I stayed in various hotels in the local area, and his brekfast beats them all.
