Reviews - Bryn Derwen Guest House

4Visit Wales Assessed Guest House Ratings explained
Woodlands,Gyffin, Llanrwst Road, Conwy, Conwy, LL32 8LT
Bryn Derwen Guest House is ideally situated just a short walk (800m) from the medieval walled town of Conwy, a World Heritage Site, with easy access to local attractions and public transport services. The North Wales coastal resorts, including the Isle of Anglesey, are readily accessible, as is the Snowdonia National Park with its magnificent mountain and lake scenery. The accommodation is comfortable, stylish with well-appointed ensuite rooms, complemented by an excellent breakfast. The town of Conwy is dominated by its castle and town walls, both of which are under the care of CADW (Welsh Historic Monuments and Heritage) and are open to the public. The castle was built by King Edward I of England between 1283 and 1287 A.D. As well as the castle and walls, the town also has two well preserved Elizabethan houses which are open to the public. Plas Mawr (CADW) is a town house, or mansion, built by the wealthy and influential Robert Wynne in 1576. Aberconwy House (National Trust) is a rare example of a stone and timber merchant’s dwelling. The town has a busy and bustling harbour as well as a deep water marina nearby. The quayside of the harbour is the location of Britain’s smallest house – measuring only 10ft x 4ft 2ins and of which the last occupant was over 6ft tall! The house was originally built as a fisherman’s cottage. Please check in either before 1.00pm or after 5.00pm to ensure that we are here to welcome you to Bryn Derwen. Last check in 10pm, if this is inconvenient please let us know as alternative arrangements can be made.

A warm welcome
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bryn Darwen which was situated within comfortable walking distance of Conway Castle. Our room was clean, comfortable and well equipped with all the necessities for an overnight stay. Breakfast was served very efficiently by a member of the family.
All in all a good experience.

Easter break in Conway
Bryn Derwen guest house is located within easy walking distance of the town and quay. It is run by a very friendly and welcoming family. The kippers I had for breakfast were delicious. Easter baskets full of eggs were sitting on the breakfast tables on Easter Sunday morning, what a lovely touch!
