Excellent guest house

Delightful house with some history.

Location excellent and "The Jamaica Inn" close by serving good food in the evenings (need to book). We managed without a car (train Belfast- Bangor). Fair but perfectly manageable walk from the station. Our room "balcony suite" was at the rear, quite large with comfortable seating. Small nuisance was some continual barking from a neighbouring dog. We could have done with a few extra days here to browse the weighty six-month volume of "The Times" for 1917. Friendly welcome from staff and overall very good value.

Cairn Bay Lodge

I cannot say a bad word about this accommodation: it was very clean, the staff were exceptionally nice and friendly.

The owners were also very friendly and couldn't do enough for me. I would highly recommend the Cairn Bay Lodge to anyone who is looking for a nice relaxing break.

Lovely

Booked online and unfortunately missed out on the one we booked, but Chris rang us and offered the Family room at a slightly lower rate.

Turned up in the evening and led to our room, the house itself is brilliant. the decor is really lovely and unique. the room itself.. what can i say.. it was massive, taking the whole loft, the 'living area' was perfect for relaxing and then the bedroom itself was grand and just inviting. Breakfast.. 2 words. Unbelievably Beautiful. we both had eggs, Benedict and Poached.. The hollandaise was simply moreish. and the poached on crumpet and with yogurt and chili. such a different but brilliant approach to what could have been boring.

Cairn Bay does breakfast the right way. Any breakfast spread with homemade Granola, smoothies and CHEESE is a winner in my books. it was a brilliant way to start the day. A Great spur of the moment getaway from the North Coast. Would recommend to anybody!

A brilliant well kept guest house

Was looked after from the moment I arrived.

Rooms were clean and tidy. Most important the beds were very comfortable. No road noise or noisy lifts etc.... and only 10-15 minute walk into the town centre.
