The owner or the manager need to take the time to sleep in room 1.
The bed was hard and uncomfortable, the pillows like bricks. The sign said if you want clean towels leave them in the shower, but all that happened was they were picked up, folded and put back on the side - WET. When spending 2 nights we wanted clean towels, the bed wasn't made but worse the bin wasn't emptied nor the complimentary tea & coffee replenished. A shame as the bar staff were friendly and the curry excellent.
The Highwayman Hotel
Food was good.
Room was adequate for needs but not exceptional. Location by canal was very good but we were not there long enough to enjoy it
The single room had clean sheets and a telly and en-suite as stated.
The room was small, the bed very creaky, very noisy every time I turned over. The shower door did not close properly. In the morning the caravan occupants from the car park used a noisy tap just outside the bathroom which woke me. Insects were crawling on the floor. Booked for 2 nights - left after one.
Bed clothes and towels were clean but décor was very scruffy, both in the room and generally across the buildings.
The Highwaymen Inn is pleasantly situated near a canal and on the main road to Oxford from Banbury.
The accommodation was good and the breakfast tasty and was prepared promptly so that I was able to get to work for 0800 in Oxford. The parking was more than adequate and the exit/entrance close to traffic lights made leaving easy. I would recommend the Inn for anyone needing b&b especially as they also have a restaurant.
The rooms are in a grubby annexe.
We booked two rooms and in each the carpet had not seen a Hoover in months. On one bathroom floor was a sanitary towel wrapper not picked up. The 2nd bathroom sink was dirty and grimy, no toilet roll and the shower which trickled with water had black mould. The mattresses in each room were worn out and lumpy giving a poor nights sleep. The whole experience was horrible the rooms were smelly and dirty - my advice to anyone thinking of staying here don't.
Perfect little hideaway
Can't fault the accommodation - the staff were friendly & helpful; room was basic but clean and had everything we needed; beds were comfortable; water was hot.
Rooms are set around the car-park so could easily come & go, while also being able to keep eye on car; as well as being entertained by the free-range ducks & hens and the colourful canal just beyond.Even having the window open at night, it was quiet. Breakfast was excellent and it was also good to be able to have a meal when we arrived and just relax in the big comfortable sofas. Will definitely tell friends and hope to stay again.

The Highway Man
The accommodation was basic, clean and perfectly comfortable.
I had a good night's sleep and a refreshing shower in the morning. The room is small but more than adequate for one person. Coffee and tea making facilities are in the room. The wireless internet was OK but I did lose signal occasionally. The setting is pretty. The breakfast was excellent as was the welcome from the landlord.
Would definitely return.
Lovely stay, the Indian food is amazing!!
