Loddington House Hotel Review
Extremely friendly host, made us feel very welcome, lovely clean room, soft comfy beds.
Had to leave at silly o'clock to catch ferry so couldn't try the breakfast but would love to stay again to do so. Brilliant position for ferry.
Warm welcome from proprietor who was extremely helpful about everything.
They were not doing evening meals, which I thought they did as it said so on their website, but this was due to recent family bereavement and they recommended a really excellent nearby restaurant. Breakfasts superb, best coffee ever. Lovely ocean views from dining room, and a pleasant guest lounge with similar views upstairs. I was staying two nights pre-cruise, and if I cruise again from Dover I would hope to stay here again.
Loddington House Hotel
A lovely building and helpful host.
Communal areas were an elegant step back in time. My 'pink' room - at the front- was a little noisy despite double glazing and the décor was drab. No en suite meant that this was an expensive hotel choice for the facilities on offer.
Response from hotel
This guest was a single lady, who reserved a double occupancy room, our single room, was not available, thus price was more expensive, the tariffs our clearly stated on the website.
I offered the guest an ensuite room at the rear of the hotel, stating that it would be quieter, she insisted on having the pink room, it has secondary glazing, but, we are situated on a main road close to the eastern docks, so at times, traffic can be excessive.
Regarding facilities, we have fibre optic WiFi Internet throughout hotel, no charge, tea/coffee facilities in the rooms, a guest lounge with library, smart TV and music, we offer alcoholic drinks, and the guest could have preordered an evening meal, she did not request either, and or utilise our facilities. Not quite sure what else was expected.
Rob the host could not be more helpful
Rob really cared about his customers and was very friendly and courteous
One night stay
Stayed one night prior to crossing on ferry to France.
Close to ferry, couldn't get much nearer . Parking to front. Quiet room at front of hotel. Lovely, helpful lady owner who recommended places to eat nearby. Cannot comment on food as left early for ferry, however got reduction on price because of this.
Excellent customer service.
Hotel with character
Dover itself isn't the nicest of places to stay but this hotel is .
It is a lovely old hotel situated right under the cliffs and the hosts are extremely warm and friendly . So much so, that if we ever go to Dover again then we would definitely stay at this hotel .
Over night stay
Well placed for the port, ensuing rooms a little tired but perfectly acceptable, the guy that runs it was very attentive and looked after us well, great breakfast
Value for money
Wonderful large room, exquisite breakfast, nice lounge with view of the harbour, excellent hosts, pleasant walk from train station along the sea front.
Older home with squeaky floors, quaint and comfortable.
Great place, great host
Lovely place with a lovely host at a very convenient location.
We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beach is just across the street, the castle within walking distance and the town centre is just 5 minutes away. Our (pink) room had a view over the channel, which was lovely. Also enjoyed staying in the sitting room.
