Reviews - The Salutation

4Self Classified Bed and Breakfast Ratings explained
Knightrider Street, , , Sandwich, CT13 9EW
Originally named after an inn that stood within the grounds, the main house is supported by Knightrider House, The Coach House and Gardener's Cottage. Having been hidden and neglected for over a decade, there has been a considerable renovation programme carried out on both the house and its gardens which are now open to the public. Set within the town and adjacent to the River Stour, surrounded by three-and-a-half acres of delightful Lutyens and Jekyll gardens and almost entirely encircled by the old city walls of Sandwich, the house is afforded a remarkable level of privacy. Accommodation within reflects the integrity of the house and gardens with unmatched decadence and a truly world class feel to each room. Like a fine claret leaving you with a rounded after-taste, our rooms are tailored for the connoisseur.

Another lovely stay
Third time here and definitely not the last. We stayed in Knightrider Cottage and it was delightful.
Lovely to walk round the grounds after the public have gone. Dom(owner) always gives a friendly welcome. Excellent breakfast.

The Lutyens house and the Gertrude Jekyll garden did not disappoint. Open access to the garden during the day and evening when the public have gone. Welcoming hosts who take a hands off approach during your stay, but are always there if you need them. A large comfortable room, breakfast room with a view of the garden and on site parking, which is a premium in Sandwich. Well located for exploring the town and the surrounding coast and countryside. Some excellent restaurants recommended by the owner.

Domonic our host was very welcoming and helpful. Open and friend without being intrusive. The room was very plush and opulent. Its certainly grand and of a style.
The building and grounds are fabulous and worth a visit too. Its a little on the pricey side, but its worth the money if you're having a weekend away somewhere. Breakfast was of a high standard too.
All in all very pleased with our stay.
