Perfect weekend away with my husband!
(Writing on daughters account as don't have one)
My daughter booked this hotel for me and my husband as we wanted to go away for a weekend. She's very good at things like this as she likes to read reviews throughouly etc, and I couldn't of been happier with her choice in hotel.
All the staff were very friendly and happy to help, we had a lovely long chat with Dave one evening and was nice to get to know him; he was always happy to help and he's a very happy chap!
The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment so some rooms have already been done, ours hadn't fully been done but had a new bathroom fitted with a lovely double shower and a brand new double bed which was very comfortable. Other than that the rest of the room was still waiting however it was still very clean and tidy and the fact it wasn't newly decorated didn't affect our stay or judgement of the hotel, with over 30 rooms it's going to take a while to get the refurb done. Our room had lots of storage so if it was a long stay there is plenty of places to put/hang your clothes.
The breakfast was also delightful, you had a choice of fruits and cereals out for when we arrived downstairs along with teas, coffees and juices and then our orders were taken for our cooked breakfast which I think is good as not everyone would want the same. They were also very good as one morning I didn't want a full cooked breakfast so they cooked me poached egg on toast Instead.
The bar area was also very nice, it's open 24/7, although there isn't someone there you just have to call and Dave will come serve you.
One night we were sat on the balcony watching some fireworks which was really nice.
Would defiantly recommend this hotel, they also do family rooms and don't accept hen or stag parties so it's nice and peaceful.
Overall the welcoming was very pleasant, all the staff were very friendly & helpful, room was really nice and food was lovely! We are already planning our next visit to bournemouth and will most definitely be staying here again but maybe taking our daughter with us this time :)

Friendly hotel that's a real hotel, rooms are being done up as the owner has a chance, room 7 we had was clean n tidy needed a revamp but nice, bed very comply no noise from other rooms at all due to it being a proper brick building , and the view from our bay window was amazing n what I call a sea view
All in all a great place to stay and once they have upgraded the rooms it will be first class place to stay I will 100% use this again! the owners are down to earth and any thing you want they will help you with , lovely staff and so local for every thing

Great location. Rooms clean but ours was very tired and worn but had a nice sea view. Food seemed processed and not very tasty. Friendly staff but not enough of them. All said was a nice stay and they have refurbished some rooms and are in the process of doing the rest up. When this hotel is finished and the food was improved it would be a fabulous place to stay

Bedding towels etc very clean staff could not have been more helpful and meals of a good standard
The hotel was as explained to us as being in need of a face lift and I believe this is being undertaken but it is close to the sea front and town. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and my wife and I enjoyed our stay, wish we had booked for longer.

Great shout for the cost
My wife and I fancied a weekend At the coast and Bournemouth was the choice. We were on a budget and the Balmoral was ideal. Affordable, good size of room, fantastic location overlooking the beach and the staff were all great. Very worn and tired room and incredibly warm, but genuine value for money. We would definitely use again.

lovely room, lovely staff
I highly recommend room 36, it's a lovely refurbished room, large and comfortable. the hotel on a whole is very nice, the paintwork could do with a touch up in places, there could be a little more attention paid to cleaning little nooks and cranies, especially in the dining room, by the windows, Michelle on reception is a lovely girl, very welcoming and helpful.
