Stopover on Long Journey
As we were travelling from Pitmedden in Scotland to our home in south Lincolnshire my husband and I decided to have a stopover along the way.
We had not been to the Lake District for many years and were looking forward to visiting the area again. We were very pleased that our car had the benefit of Sat Nat as we doubt that we would have found the Mill Inn. The staff were very helpful even though they did not seem confident with which room we were staying in. Our room was rather small but adequate. The meals were rather larger than anticipated but were well cooked and presented. The hotel was very old and rather quaint. The area was beautiful and the only drawback was the weather. If we were in the area again we would be happy to stay there again.
Overnight stay for wife's birthday
Inn was in a beautiful location.
Food was excellent but a little expensive, £12.95 for Fish and Chips. Full English Breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. We didn't eat anything except an ice cream until the evening!
exceptionally good in every respect. The staff are welcoming and helpful
A lovely, genuine Pub with rooms.
The food is extremely good. Fantastic staff, lovely rooms. If I absolutely had to find anything to criticise, it could only be that it would be nice to see photos of local scenes in the bedrooms rather than photos of New York - BUT that is subjective, and others may love them. I think this place is rather wonderful, and very much look forward to our return.
The hotel is in a peaceful setting overlooking a river and is ideal for an overnight stop or a short break
Very Nice People
Make the Mill Inn your No. 1 choice for North Lakes
Lovely friendly attention from all staff; room very comfortable; food really good with very prompt kitchen service; packed lunches provided; excellent value.
I really enjoyed my weekend stay on a walking break. I've already been back - travelled over from Newcastle just for an evening meal with a friend who was staying in Penrith. Try the Mill Inn first if you are looking for a base in the North Lakes.
My husband and I stayed for one night, as we were doing a mountain bike sportive.
The pub is lovely, the staff fantastic, even getting up early to do us breakfast as we needed an early start, landlord really friendly. You have to sample the fabulous menu. We were more than happy with our room. Late rooms got the price wrong, but the Inn honoured the printed quote we had been given. Cant wait to stay again. Only problem I fell from my bike and fractured my shoulder :(
