Rising to the occasion
Very friendly and welcoming B & B.
We were welcomed in person by the lady owner, who gave us some recommendations or local facilities, eateries, etc. Quite easy to find, on the main road into Poole from the Bournemouth direction, with adequate and well-marked-out off-road parking. Double room clean and adequate for our one-night stay, although might be a little cramped for a longer stay. Usual tea and coffee making facilities (although no sweetener for my partner, who doesn't take sugar - fortunately we had our own), en-suite with easy to use and efficient electric shower. Comfortable bed ensured a good night's sleep, and the room was at the back of the house, too, so quiet. We did not book breakfast, so cannot comment on food, dining facilities, etc., although I did note that the owners are willing to allow guests use of the dining room to eat take-away food if necessary. In the morning, before departure, we met the husband, who was equally friendly and showed interest in our plans for the day. All in all, a five-star experience which I would recommend unreservedly to anyone requiring a short stay in the area.

Would stay again
Stayed for one night on way to a walking holiday in Purbeck.
For us the guest house was a great location with easy access to the bus and train station. Stay was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great.
South Rising Guest House
Clean and tidy.
clean and tidy just what we required
Suitable for a short stay
We stayed in the double room (#2) for 1 night only as we attended a wedding at the Parkstone Yacht Club (15 mins walk).
We were abit worried when we found out it was facing a busy main road but actually, with the window shut, we slept fine and the bed was comfortable. The owner also accommodated us by letting us check in1 hr early so we could get ready. The room itself had a shared bathroom (next door) and had a sink, full length mirror, tea making facilities and hairdryer. It was all very clean so we couldn't ask for much more considering the price was £70 cheaper than the Holiday Inn Express. We would stay there again.
