Very comfortable and breakfast was very good quality, didnt need to eat again for a few hours.
Perfect for walkers and exploring Exmoor and this wonderful coastline. Getting in and out by car though is not very clutch friendly.
Very welcoming and a wonderful spot
The hostess welcomed us very late in the evening due to traffic we faced coming out of London, and took the time to make us feel at home.
The room was very comfortable and we had a very peaceful stay. The following morning, we were cooked a wonderful breakfast beyond our expectations. The B&B is in a super place, ideal for the start of some excellent walks on the Devon coast.
Arrived at hillside house to a warm welcome, room was clean and comfortable.
Lynmouth is a lovely place to stay with some great walks and scenery
Homely ,good value guest house
The room was small with a tiny shower en-suite but we were made aware of this at booking and also by the owner when we arrived and as it was for one night only,so quite acceptable.I would not have wanted this room for longer. The room had a TV,tea making facillities and a small dish of sweets..which was a nice touch and unexpected.
Thw guest house is very 'homely' not a bit prentious and the owner gave us a warm welcome on arrival. She was able to recommend pubs & restaurants to visit..as we had arrived late and needed a meal. Our breakfast was delicious..a complete 'full english' and plentful.Really good.It set us up for our long journey home. The dinning room ,however, seemed rather cramped. The guest house is situated right next to and overlooking the road, and access to the front door is up some steep stairs.Someone with a disability may struggle to climb them, although obviously there is a strong hand rail for support. There isn't any car parking but we were able to park in the road in an allocated parking space over night. Virtually opposite the guest house is a public car park. Our room was very quiet so we were able to get a good sleep, having enjoyed a very good meal in a pub by the harbour and well within walking distance of the guest house. We and enjoyed our stay would be very happy to go there again.
Beautiful riverside stay
The hotel was easy to find and near the centre of Lynmouth.
Roadside parking was easy to find. Our hostess was very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and although our room was small it was fine for us, with a good en-suite shower and loo. Breakfast was really lovely and perfectly cooked; we would recommend Hillside House to anyone.
the owner denise is delightfully helpful.
I have osteo arthritis and hip problem so the steep entrance was difficult esp with luggage and dog. Also stairs inside were a problem.
Overnight stay in Lynmouth
Having had 3 previous nights away from Lynmouth this accomodation was disappointing as it was smaller and gave no real space to relax.
However, Lynmouth is a quiet and older place where, realistically, room will be at a premium for all more budget priced B&B's near the town centre. The lady owner was very open and obviously wanted us to enjoy our time - hence was most helpful. Breakfast could be as light or full as you wanted. After 4pm we found it easy to find parking very near to the hotel, with no need to vacate the parking til mid-day next day.
A fantastic place, excellent view, excellent host.
We will be back.
nice low cost break
ideal base for walking or just seeing the sites!
Everything was just right.
