A fabulous stay at the Matford Belvedere, Exminster - 10 minutes from Exeter
What a good decision to stay Bed & Breakfast after our long journey down from Berwick-upon-Tweed via Leeds. Mrs Knot is an excellent hostess. She greeted us warmly with fresh coffee and homemade cake and showed considerable hospitality throughout our stay. My son and I stayed in a lovely, well prepared room and had private use of the bathroom and rear of Mrs Knot's elegant home. We were able to venture out into Exeter for a evening meal without feeling the need to rush back and were treated to a wonderfully prepared breakfast of local produce the following morning. If our son chooses to study at Exeter University I would, without reservation, look to book further visits for my wife and I at the Matford Belvedere.

A unique and homely retreat after an adventure to find the location
We were most impressed by Mrs Knott's welcome to her superb little hotel house. She has pride in her rooms and she has provided all the comforts of home for guests' enjoyment. Within an hour of our arrival, after seven hours travel and a motoring mishap, she produced tea and sandwiches beyond the normal scope of a booking agreement, while breakfast was first rate and set us up for the day.

Relaxing, delightful stay
I chose to try something different from a chain hotel and found this guest house a relaxing place to stay with a delightful host! Feels like you're in the middle of the country with delightful views while just over the hill is Exeter.

A little gem. Only one room but truly delightful
Couldn't have been made more welcome or more comfortable. Bedroom and bathroom very well equipped and appointed and absolutely spotless. Breakfast quite exceptional. The lady owner was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends. Stayed on my own this visit but hope to return very soon with my wife.
Truly wonderful!
