Reviews - The Village Inn

4Self Classified Inn Ratings explained
Youngaton Road, Westward Ho!, , Bideford, EX39 1HU
This Visit Britain 4 Star Inn is set in a pretty and historic seaside resort, The Village Inn at Westward Ho! offers delightful family run accommodation in Devon. You will receive a warm welcome from your resident hosts Julie and Stuart Hudson and their daughter Clare, who will do everything possible to make your stay here as enjoyable and relaxing as possible. Our beautifully appointed, spacious rooms - all of which have full en suite facilities - are made up of a choice of family, double and twin bedrooms. Most have sea views. All of our rooms have central heating and are equipped with generous courtesy trays with tea and coffee making facilities and complementary toiletries, remote controlled digital colour television with Teletext, alarm clock/radio, hairdryer and electric shaver points. An iron and ironing board are available upon request. Your hearty full English breakfast is served in our intimate and cosy restaurant where you can also enjoy dinner from our extensive menu which caters for all tastes. All meals are freshly prepared to order by our chef using local Devon produce wherever possible. Lunches are served in our light and airy conservatory or in our sheltered patio garden, weather permitting! We are situated only a few minutes walk from the South West Coastal Path and the Royal North Devon Golf Club, making this an ideal base for walking, golfing and cycling holidays and for touring the Westcountry generally. Or perhaps simply for a peaceful, relaxing break here in this lovely, historic resort itself. Close at hand are the quaint seaside villages of Clovelly and Woolacombe. Barnstaple, which is Britain's oldest borough, is also nearby with its famous pannier market, theatre, clubs, cinema and shops. Exmoor National Park, RHS Rosemoor and many other gardens and the beautiful rugged coastline are also here to be enjoyed.

Good setting in the Village
A good comfortable stay. A thicker, darker pair of curtains would be appreciated to block out some of the street lighting.

Village Inn Stay
Very clean and comfortable single room and staff were all very helpful. Cooked breakfast slightly disappointing (only one rasher and sausage not great - how about using local produce?).

An Excellent Stay
I spent four very happy days staying at The Village. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff friendly and accommodating. The breakfast very hearty and delicious. Given the very convenient location of the Village, close to the sea, the bus stop and shops it is an excellent place to stay. Thoroughly recommended!

Village Inn
Friendly, clean and, I thought, good value for money. Surprisingly quiet considering where it is situated.
