Good value friendly hotel in idyllic location
I was pleased to discover that this hotel was comfortable and welcoming after a long trip.
I had a good meal and some excellent beer in the bar and then retired to my comfortable bed. The en-suite had been partitioned into the corner of the room so it was all a bit cramped but OK with a shower, sink and a "Saniflo" type loo. Breakfast was good and served between 7.30 and 9.30. There was no mobile phone signal or wifi in the room but they did have free wifi in the bar.
Excellent place to stay in Dartmoor national park
Our stay was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome.
The location is perfect for visiting Dartmoor national park.

Rosie & Paul are a very hostpital couple who look after their guest's very well.
The accomodation is fairly old but very homely & comfortable. As they explain in their welcoming brochure the water may take a few moments to arrive at the tap or shower but when it does it is hot & plentiful. The locally produced food is cooked & prepared to a high standard, the sauage's & bacon are especially tasteful, highly recommended. Finally the local real ales are excellent and well looked after. Rosie & Paul many thanks for making our stay so enjoyable. Faith & Malc
very friendly welcome. spotlessly clean . quality service..good food, very tasty fresh local produce
We enjoyed our short stay and would recommend the hotel..The location was quiet though very interesting ...good service at breakfast , lovely dining area..
My only negative comment would be:although the Newloundland dog ( obviously a family pet )was wel behaved ..I did not think it was appropriate that he was allowed to hover at the tables in the bar when we were eating...there was a sign not to feed him which was understandable..but I do think he could have been removed untill after the meals were over..I'm sure then we would have enjoyed his presence...
