A stay set in time
A beautiful old Manse set in peaceful gardens off a major route just out of Inverness.
Filled with antiques this B&B was a welcome rest on my travels, would have enjoyed staying longer just to visit. Very comfortable, pretty room with a small, practical ensuite. Breakfast ordered night before was amongst the best of my 2 weeks in Scotland. Highly recommend it for both families, couples or travellers like myself
Probably the best B & B / hotel I have ever been to
Angie and her family run one of the best places I have ever stayed at.
The house is old and has a lot of history, the rooms are clean, big and well decorated. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast food is fantastic. You get your choice of food, everything is cooked perfectly and the freshly cut fruit salad is fantastic. There are even sweets available in the dining room for those late night sweet treat raids. There is a antique business on the grounds with very fair prices and the grounds are great to walk around. It is near the freeway but you do not hear any traffic noise. We were there for 9 days and met so many great people. The nice thing is that is is only 5 miles from Inverness and it's airport. Lots of great places are within driving distance. Do you self a favor and stay here if you visit this part of the country.
torguish bed and breakfast
Stayed at the torguish bed and breakfast for hogmany. The place has a very homely feel.
The staff were so friendly and helpful, Scottish hospitality at its best.
We will not forget a cosy evening snug around the fire, a very comfortable stay, perfect traditional breakfast and the world of antiques, collections and curios that we discovered.
It made a short visit to the Highlands a really great break.
Fantastic, welcoming, cosy, clean!!!
We had a great stay at this B&B, the owners are really friendly and down to earth, the whole place is spottless clean which is amazing considering the amount of fixtures/ antiques and ornaments everywhere...all of which by the way add real character and charm to the house.
Room was a great size, plenty of hot water, wifi that worked, a nice garden, great views, and well what can i say about the attention to detail...Amazing!!!honestly every little thing you could think of was provided unlike your standard kettle, iron and hairdryer (and thats it) that you would find at most hotels. Cannot rate this place enough, these people are experts at what they do. Thankyou Mike and Ben.
Accommoding for Baxters 10k
I stayed here the night before I ran the Baxters 10k with my wide and 8year old daughter.
We arrived around 5pm and we were greeted by Ben the BnB owner who was very friendly. He sorted out a reservation for dinner at the Cullodin which is a fantastic Bar Resteront with great food. The room it's self had a double and single bed with ensuite. It was a nice clean room but had lots of ornaments everywhere which was due to the fact they had a antiques business. The owners run there antiques business out of large sheds and around the outside of the BnB which u can walk around which my daughter found fascinating. The breakfast in the morning was really good. I had a nice fruit salad followed by porridge. This was made to order. All in all it was a lovely place to stay.
Family friendly and with bags oif character & charm.
Greeted warmly at the door, the owners could not have been more friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Situated in a very rural setting, the house had a very relaxed, peaceful atmosphere inside & out. Cosy bedrooms with cosy beds, and a full, tasty breakfast each morning, what more could you ask. We arrived as guests and left as friends.
Very welcoming and nice room
not too keen on the sausages, otherwise no complaints !
The Amazing Find of a Very Special Guest House
My group (2 married couples on motorcycles) arrived at the postcode at the gate of a field in the middle of nowhere.
But a quick phone call to Michael (the owner of Torguish) and we were guided in to one of the most unusual and delightful guesthouses we have every encountered. Log fire burning in the hearth, antique vehicles and artefacts everywhere. The owners (Michael and Angie) are Motorcycle fanatics and welcome bikers with open arms. Fellow guest and biker John from Shetland shared happy stories of bikes and life with us. Angie (Michael's wife) gave us a lift to the local restaurant in the evening (Colluden) with fine pub food and then back to share a bottle of whisky over more stories. The rooms were all individual - even noted that Alistair McClean the famous author used to live here - were we in his childhood bedroom where he conceived all those amazing stories!. Querky, comfy, vehicle and biker friendly, antique laden, just perfect. And breakfast was sensational with porridge, haddock, kippers, haggis and black pudding to die for. On departing there was a photocall - standing in a row outside the front door with Micheal and Angie and our new found friends. So all in all we felt very special. Will recommend to all friends and am looking forward to coming back next May (2015). Nick, Grace, Kevin and Mae.
Torguish House, Daviot
Lovely overnight stay.
Hotelier very friendly and helpful. Recommended local restaurant and booked table for us. If you follow the instructions and ignore the sat nav directions the house is very easy to find sitting on the side of the A9. Bedroom nice and comfortable with ensuite. Breakfast very good and kept us going all day. Thank you
