Conveniently situated being only 3 or 4 minutes walk from the town and there is a car park!.
Very pleased with the accommodation, room was clean, staff were very pleasant / helpful and breakfast was good.
not the room I reserved
On arrival I was told that room I had booked and had been confirmed was not available, I presumed as I had booked for a single night, that somebody wanted to stay in the larger room with king sized bed that I had reserved, and they may have been staying for a longer period hence better for the owner, I have to say the staff were very apologetic and the room they gave us was not to bad a be it smaller bed and with a double and single bed in it, it was a bit cramped, it was very clean as was the rest of the hotel that I saw, we did not eat in the evening so cannot really comment on the food, I am a veggy so my two poached eggs were ok the toast was a bit chewy, my wife had bacon which she said was a bit salty but otherwise ok.
The staff were very good and very welcoming, the hotel was very clean, but I was not happy about room being sold after I had booked it and had it confirmed by Late Rooms, finally I was given a decent discount, I only paid £65 for our stay, this hotel is fine if you like the Edwardian elegance theme, lots of wall prints and paintings and lots of nick knacks and ornaments , I prefer less clutter (obviously personal preference) I would not stay here again myself but I am sure lots of people will enjoy their stay here.
