Pendle Inn, Barley - Customer Comments
The accommodation in the chalet was acceptable but a good night's sleep was not really an option as there are skylights with only flimsy blinds fitted which meant that the room was flooded with daylight from about 05:00 hrs. Perhaps the proprietors would consider fitting blinds made from more substantial fibre such as 'black out' material.
The food in the restaurant was good as was the service there.
Re the so called friendly pub itself, namely 'The Pendle Inn' which my companion and I only visited on the first night of our stay...........this was, I am very sorry to say, not a very welcoming establishment and any friendliness and warmth on the part of the proprietors and bar staff was very pointedly reserved solely for the locals of the area and my overall impression was that it is cliquish and to be avoided by visitors who are made to feel like interlopers!

The setting was very picturesque in the village of Barley. Accommodation was chalet style separate to the hotel. Breakfast was not included although being self catering was not highlighted during the booking. The chalet was reasonable although milk was left in the fridge from the last guests. Overall, not a bad place and lovely environment. Hotel food was very good, lovely homemade dishes.

Excellent, well planned accommodation with nice welcoming touches.
Space and facilities well thought out, and great to find a jug of milk in the fridge on arrival, plus a tea-towel provided. Good furnishings and fittings. A little more kitchen equipment (esp. pans) would have been useful. The T.V. and Sky remote controls conspired to make life difficult! We were told that a refit and redecoration is planned, which is due and will make this delightful facility all the more attractive.

This was a gem of a place to find. Fabulous walks close by. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was very, very good. I loved the idea of the rooms being self catering, everything was clean and adequate for our needs. Would definately visit again!
