The most awful place to stay.

Our room was probably the worst that we have ever encountered:tired and very dated decor ( white emulsioned embossed wallpaper).

Carpet had seen better days, as had the mish mash of furniture. We could not get the shower to run consistently for any length of time, it was either cold or scalding hot. The shower cubicle was disgusting, having much black mould and showing great neglect. The door between the dressing area and the toilet had no latch on it ,let alone a lock. breakfast was adequate but for some reason served on side plates.( possibly to make it look more!). The most annoying thing was the fact that the owner could not stop talking; it took almost half an hour to book in and at breakfast he talked at us throughout the time we were trying to eat. So rude. The approach to the car parking area was potholed and very forbidding in keeping with the impression gained from the approach from the road. All in all, I felt that we had had the mickey taken in paying £77 for such a poor overnight stay.

friendly family run hotel

the owners are lovely friendly people who pay attention to personal requirements and taste.

when shown the menu which was set for the week the owner offered any variation from the menu that contained the ingredients of any of the listed meals, when the meals were serve they were served with attention to detail on presentation and were delicious. the room was simple in furnishings and felt homely and relaxing and the bed was very comfy. my only problem was the shower where the water flow was very slow and the thermostate was faulty and unfortunately the owner did not get this fixed during my 4 day stay, but i managed to still shower by manually holding the thermostat at my required temp and standing close to the wall . if it wasnt for the shower this would have been a perfect review for an old fashioned hotel with and appealing character that i will return to if in the area again.

Friendly and nice

We were pleasantly surprised when we stayed in this hotel.

We had a large family room with everything we needed. It was comfortable and quiet. The front desk person/owner could not have been more friendly or helpful. The breakfast was more than we expected aswell with eggs, toast, cereal, coffee, etc. We will come back to this hotel.

Reasonably priced clean and comfortable.

The hotel was recommended by friends that lived nearby, room was spacious an the bed comfortable.

Host was accommodating and helpful, good family, non corporate atmosphere, will use again in future.

Seen its best

The shower was blocked, so the water did not drain away.

Not as bad as it could have been as the hot water ran out after a couple of minutes so you have to get out of the shower anyway. Very friendly and accommodating owner, nothing seemed too much trouble, would stay again if needs must.

Alright

Friendly and relaxing, but Hotel could do with some TLC.
