Ramada Birmingham Oldbury M5 J2

The service we received at check in was appalling, once we got to the room we was impressed with the layout, however the floor in the tolietoliey was sticky, the toliet seat had yellow stains on it and also the cushion on the bed had stains on it.

Not what I expected

Having stayed at other Ramada hotels i was hopeful that this one would be up to the same standards.

However with fixtures and fittings not secure, the complimentary WiFi useless, and the TV not working properly. I was left very disappointed. I asked a member of staff about the TV and was told someone would come and have a look at it. They never did.

We would not rule out returning - good value for the price we paid on Late Rooms

We were a bit wary as there were mixed reviews.

Other than the extraordinary noise in the lift, we found the accommodation very clean and comfortable. The hot/cold buffet style breakfast was tasty and plentiful but with the slowest toaster in the world. We both agreed that the staff and customer service need a bit of a training session and learn to be more smiley and welcoming. Although we felt a bit sorry for the lovely lady who was on coffee/tea duties when a couple were particularly demanding in their egg requests with no please's or thank you's. Also, we arrived at 13:35 and were grumpily told we could not check in until 14:00 which did not start the experience off particularly well. We got a good deal on Late Rooms for B&B and would not rule out returning if our preferred choice is not available down the road :)

Fire alarm went off at around 5.45am Hairs on bed and in bathroom When Checking out old staff on reception regarding alarm she said ' I have only just come on shift".

Hairs in room. "I will let house keeping know". No apologies no interest.

Won't be giving Ramada my buisness in future.
